This sounds much like generational curses. Have you ever seen the movie It Ends With Us? It’s definitely a secular movie, but it’s not something a Christian who wasn’t sheltered his/her life shouldn’t be able to handle (for lack of better words).

I’m being reminded of The Never Ending Story; how the boy is reading his story. It’s already written; yet it’s still happening to the boy as he is reading.
