Hi protsenko family! I love watching your videos and especially karolina with her violin. Sometimes it is hard for me to let go and sometimes I can let it go. For example, one of my teachers from my 7th grade year really helped me through quarentine because at first, I had to do school work from home for most of the year and then whenever we went back to school, I was able to see her in person and if she was always around me, I felt calm, safe, and comfortable and whenever the school year was coming to a close, I cried because I wasn't sure if I was going to see her again. She will always hold a special place in my heart and I will always think of her no matter where I am. God bless you all! Have a great day!

Parenting's soul is all about a series of letting go moments. Let go, let go and let go more. Parents that are secure enough themselves to truly let go will reap the benefits of this process when kids become young adults. Maybe it is quite American but I recommend letting go, particularly with someone as highly gifted as your daughter!

That was great of you to share from your heart - it shows the close bond of a healthy family relationship that you share. And I clearly remember the excitement of going to camp for a week every summer 55 years ago - it was a highlight of the year that left me with unforgettable memories - and a closer walk with God through the example of Christlike counselors and leaders.

That's nice! 🙂 What church were you in? 👍🏽
@AdamsAmigos3 жыл бұрын
@@JonathanGillies As a kid, I attended Pinecrest Camp in the Sierras near Lake Tahoe. It was run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In the late 1970's, the camp was moved to Leoni Meadows, near Placerville, CA and also run by the SDA Church. They have camps for kids during the summer and retreats for all kinds of groups during the rest of the year. Being out in nature always makes me feel closer to our Creator God.
@JonathanGillies3 жыл бұрын
@@AdamsAmigos Thanks for letting me know! 🙂 Karolina went to the Seventh-Day Adventist-run Camp Mivoden near Coeur d'Alene in northern Idaho. So apparently the Protsenko are Seventh-Day Adventists. I'm assuming that you at least used to be? Is that how you got to know the Protsenkos or is it just a coincidence? 🙂 I was very happy to see in their latest video that Karolina seems to have really enjoyed it! And yes, I agree that nature can bring us closer to God if we have the eyes to see the Creator through his creation, but we must remember that as fallen sinners God cannot fellowship with us unless our sins have been punished in Christ and we are clothed in Christ's perfect righteousness. So yes, nature is a pointer to God, but we must not stop short of making sure that we are truly born again by turning from our sins and self-servingness and self-righteousness and crying out to God to have mercy on us and wash us from our sins because of Christ's sacrifice alone. Every blessing, Jonathan 👍🏽
@AdamsAmigos3 жыл бұрын
@@JonathanGillies I was curious to know which camp Karolina attended, since Pine Springs Ranch, which is closest to where her family lives only had Family Camps this summer. How did you know she went to Mivoden? I have not been there, but my son and his family who live in Washington enjoy going there. I am not a personal friend of the Prostenko family, but when I saw that they are vegetarians and Karolina's dad mentioned being a Pathfinder as a kid, I figured they have that background. Yes, I am an Adventist, and fully agree with what you shared about being clothed in the righteousness of Christ. Have a blessed Sabbath!
@JonathanGillies3 жыл бұрын
@@AdamsAmigos I figured out that Karolina had gone to Camp Mivoden because the man that accompanied her to her parents' car had 'Camp Mivoden Staff' printed on his t-shirt. When I was 10 I went to a 10 day recreation camp. There was an option to attend during school term, or during the holidays. I chose to attend during school holidays. My family drove me 2 hours to the train station. There we were met by the camp counsellors, and I boarded the train with children I had just met, I had a wonderful time. There were no mobile phones or anything 50 years ago, so I wrote letters home and that was it. I had 4 siblings, all boys, so I think whenever there was one child away from home it was one less child to deal with lol!! I had fun, and we all got to do away at some stage or another. It's so important for children to learn independence.
