Yep. I am fortunate that I found my my own Cameron 18 years ago. Been married 16 years, two kids, lots of difficult times, still in love, still having loads of fun (even during quarantine). I think LIB was a great example of how and what makes a healthy, loving relationship. If you are with the right person you become the best version of yourself. You need to be content and sorted in yourself first before you can properly enter into a relationship. When you are looking for a partner prioritise and focus on a few core values that are not negotiable and be open minded about all the other things. Looks fade, money comes and goes, people change but things like trust, honesty, kindness and respect last forever - when you have children with someone your priorities change greatly. One day your partner taking the baby for a walk so you can sleep will seem like the most romantic gesture ever. There WILL be tough times and conflict, your partner will do things that drive you nuts, - it’s HOW you deal with these things that determines if your partnership strengthens and grows. It is by going through difficult times together that forges the bonds between you. Make a conscious decision to prioritise your relationship and commit to investing time and effort into it each day. Be each other’s best friend. Mutual respect, love, fidelity, honesty, commitment, compromise, communication. If you are trying to figure out if your relationship is right ask yourself- do I like the kind of person I am when I am with them? Get your head, heart and soul right first and have the right mindset and you can find your own Cameron/Lauren. There is no perfect person out there but there can be someone who if perfect for you. As an aside we are technically an interracial couple but we live in Australia so it’s not really an issue here and is generally seen as a normal and non controversial occurrence and “mixed” kids are quite common. Of course like any country there is racism and societal problems but we try to celebrate and appreciate diversity.
