From somebody who has one shihtzu, I can say with confidence that you have chosen a breed which requires lot of maintenance and they are very fussy with food as they grow. Regular salon hair cuts and bath easily cost 2-3K per dog in each trip. This depends on the salons standards too. If you take them to cheap ones, where no hygiene is maintained, then ticks and fleas will come as return gift😂 They also are very delicate breed and can’t stand hot or humid climate. Also easily get eye, ear and skin infection. I hope you don’t lose the love for them as they start showing their true colours. Good luck 😅

Some hair fall will happen when you comb these hairy breeds like shihtzu .They need daily combing at least one time in a day to avoid any knots in their body. Knots also cause skin infections as there is no air circulation in that region of the knots.
