Surrender through simple obedience. Faith with action, stepping out in faith. Surrender your eyes, your ears, your mouth, your hands, your feet, and emotions and will to the Lord everyday. And at the next opportunity to help someone who cannot repay you, especially a believer in Christ. Serve others even in the midst of your own struggles. And remain faithful to be washed and cleansed daily in His precious blood and read the word of God and put His word into practice in your life. When you pray, forgive everyone and release them from any hurt or pain they might have caused you. We deny ourselves by not allowing our hands and feet and our eyes and ears to go to places or to do things we know that if He was right there speaking to us we wouldn't do it. Obedience comes before spiritual breakthrough. Blessings come from serving others. I'm not there yet myself but I am learning that when we surrender through obedience to God when we trust in Him and take Him at His word. The Holy Spirit is the life seed and we water it with the word of God. Eventually it will take root and begin to grow. Also pray for others who are struggling like you. Our circumstances are only appearances, when we set our hearts on Jesus and focus our thoughts on Him He will be faithful to work in us. Each opportunity we are tested in is another to trust in Jesus and surrender to Him in the moment. Just remember Faithful is He who calls you who also will do it. Amen

The first thing God does is get us grounded on strong reality and truth. He does this until our cares for ourselves individually have been brought into submission to His way for the purpose of His redemption. Why shouldn’t we experience heartbreak? Through those doorways God is opening up ways of fellowship with His Son. Most of us collapse at the first grip of pain. We sit down at the door of God’s purpose and enter a slow death through self-pity. And all the so-called Christian sympathy of others helps us to our deathbed. But God will not. He comes with the grip of the pierced hand of His Son, as if to say, “Enter into fellowship with Me; arise and shine.” If God can accomplish His purposes in this world through a broken heart, then why not thank Him for breaking yours?

I am just in awe of how many Christians are ok with sex outside of marriage and living together not married-for many reasons-simply ignoring the Bible or spirit is willing but the flesh is weak or the fact that divorce rates are so high they figure its better to live together and see if it works to avoid a possible divorce. I thanked Tim Dilena a while back for making me more open to the new "modern" Bible translations -- but I have to say that after just a little bit of research, the modern Bibles are like the "milk" compared to the "meat" of the Geneva and King James Bibles. They are ABRIDGED -- because so many words have been dropped, including whole verses and even some key concepts. I highly recommend everyone keep at least ONE copy of the KJV (King James Bible), even if you only read in it the words of Jesus in red. Because Jesus had MORE to say than anyone can see in 99% of the "modern speech" bibles of today. I know that "scholars" say the "older" manuscripts that have been found (like the Sinaiticus and the Vaticanus) are too important not to use -- but they are in the vast MINORITY of manuscripts and they don't even agree with one another. It's just a lie to say that the edited Greek text that first came out from Westcott and Hort in the 19th century (around the 1870s) is "better." Those men were spiritists (card-carrying "spiritualists" that purposely tried to communicate with the dead, as forbidden in the Bible) and from letters they wrote to one another it is learned that they did NOT believe that Jesus Christ even performed any miracles. I don't know if the others that joined their committee were knowingly deceptive or just deceived because they were too lazy to use their own critical thinking, or they were bribed or they were just too happy to be "honored" to be a part of that travesty. But it was and is a travesty. It has gone through new names over the past 150 years -- Nestle-Alland for instance -- and the only Bibles they ever put out are not only INCOMPLETE but slowly more and more introduce terms that came directly from the occult writings of such as Madame Blavatsky, who worshiped Lucifer. I'm not going to say the modern Bibles are all bad, but the Bible says to study to show yourself approved. If you are going to study the Bible -- and we all should to the best of our abilities -- a REAL Bible is needed!

By your logic there is no need for other language translations, because Elizabethan English KJV is sufficient for the Nepalese, for the tribes of Papua, for the peoples of the Amazon. Because their translations are milk. Wow!

First of all, know that MOST translations into other languages HAVE been translated using the King James Bible -- and even when that is not the case, people ARE saved with MILK...! Can a baby thrive without milk? Best when it comes from its mother, but when that is not possible they MUST have a formula (or goat milk or whatever). I am NOT condemning the other Bibles -- but I am putting this out there for people who want to go DEEPLY into the Word. If a person cannot bear slightly harder to understand English as in the Geneva (which I find to be easier to read than the KJV) or the King James, even knowing that they can get more from it, that is their choice. Maybe my milk and meat analogy is not the best. The other way I would put it is that most modern translations of the Bible are ABRIDGED -- and some things are left out. They also have a curve of un-deifying Jesus in very subtle ways, such as changing "Lord Jesus Christ" to just "Jesus" and change "Son of God" to "servant of God," and LEAVE OUT the blood of Jesus in significant verses. The deception went TOO FAR when I learned that people are now being taught that the King James and the Geneva Bibles ADDED words and verses. That is BACKWARDS and it is a LIE (though, sadly, for most people it is a deception they have swallowed because some teacher at seminary said so). One of my favorite books -- a classic -- is about a Muslim woman in Pakistan back in the '40s and '50s who was divorced and was from a privileged (and very wealthy) family. She lived alone but for her six servants and found Jesus in an amazing way. She was so convicted of the goodness of Him that she allowed herself to visit a missionary couple to learn more. That couple helped her, with wisdom -- and gave her a copy of the J.B. Phillips New Testament. Corrie Ten Boom also used that New Testament. I had ENOUGH in it that this woman was BEAUTIFULLY saved (and got out of the country before she was killed). However, J.B. Phillips was a spiritist (aka spiritualist): not a person one would hope to be translating the Word of God. Yet his translation has helped many people -- even though it like most of the newer translations DROPPED a lot of very helpful information. People should now this: the King James Bible did NOT add words and verses; rather, the edited Greek text that the translators 98% of the time are using to make new translations OMITTED words and verses -- and NOT the other way around. It is said in the Bible that in the latter days men will call good evil and call evil good. I am sorry to say that such upside-down thinking has come to the point of lies being propagated regarding the Word of God. I personally avoided the King James Bible myself. I bought over two dozen translations trying to find the one I could read the most easily. At the end of two years of research I bought a King James and learned that it is NOT that hard to understand -- and when I don't understand things in the Bible (KJV or otherwise) I just keep reading. There is so much that I do understand. I trashed the purposely changed Bibles (such as the one the Watchtower/Jehhovah's witnesses put out called the New World Bible). And I trashed others of that ilk. The rest I just gave away. Then over the following 10 years I slowly bought some of those modern translations again, much inspired by Pastor Tim's use of them. The results, to me, are both good and bad. Some of the language in the modern Bibles is very inspiring and I love that. But that doesn't make them complete. P.S. The name of that lovely Christian classic is I DARED CALL HIM FATHER.

I agree with much of what you said, but I typically use a NKJV Study Bible. It is keyed to Strong's and has extensive notes. My basic rule is stick with a version that is based on the Received Text and stay away from those based on the Critical Text. I like to say that versions like The Message are only good for Bumper Stickers!

The KJV has and always is, my preferred study Bible, although I own several versions, as well as a Quran, to know what someone else may be talking about. I sometimes refer to the Amplified, NKJV, New Jerusalem, as well as my Concordance and Vine's dictionary in order to better understand, but less and less often, as the Holy Spirit is the perfect Teacher.

@@padillas4357 I have not had time to go into it deeply but thus far I am impressed with words that were NOT dropped from the NKJV. I will be searching it a lot this next year, as it is also my only interleaved Bible (that is, with a blank page between every page so I can jot notes as I go). The NKJV took on some other manuscripts, but I have not learned about all those yet (though I DO agree with using things from the Dead Sea Scrolls -- which were NOT kept by the Essenes, who are gnostic, but were kept by the descendants of the faithful Levite Zadok.) I believe that both the Pharisees (the ones that were vipers) and the Catholic church have covered up the true history of the Dead Sea Scrolls by claiming the Essenes kept them. But that's a whole 'nother story....
