Easter was great this year. Made dinner for my family, parents and aunts family. I made an ambrosia cake from Paula deens website putting my own touches on it. But for breakfast I made your orange French toast casserole and OH MY…it was so GOOD!! I will be making it again. Loved it. My dad loved cucumber and onion salad. We also had it for Easter and served it up to Christmas per my dad's request. He passed away last September but I will still make it in his memory and my husband's since my husband passed away in February. I always peeled my potatoes the night before and fill the bowl with cold water and cover with plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator. Never had any problem with them turning brown. That is something my mother did when we were growing up and she was working and mashed potatoes was on the menu for the next day's meal.

I'm so glad y'all had a wonderful Easter with the family. I bet the meal was delicious. We had a wonderful Easter, too. I got baptized and I had before, but this one was different. First time being under water except baths since I almost drowned, the abuse from my father and ex-boyfriend, and being married to a man who believes in the same Heavenly Father as me and isn't afraid to say he believes in Jesus Christ and loves Him.

I got married the weekend before Easter 20 years ago. My maternal grandfather was an Assembly of God Pastor and he married my husband and me on his back porch with just a few close family members present. My grandmother made us THIS cake as our wedding cake. We both had to go to work shortly after our ceremony so we got a bite each, but no more. Needless to say, this cake holds a lot of special memories for me.

I make Cucumber salad too.... Almost like yours....I go with straight apple cider vinegar and I add 1 and fourth cup sugar.....I like the tangy and Sweet....Your Easter Dinner looked amazing.....I smoked my ham, and marinated lamb chops in olive oil, fresh garlic, rosemary, lemon, salt... Smoked those too..... Corn on Cob, green beans with bacon and onions, Potato Salad, Yeast rolls, deviled eggs.....I had Publix fix me a Strawberry Supreme Cake......Good Food and Fellowship...

I love cucumber onion and tomato salad with just salt and pepper, I cannot stand the taste or smell of vinegar. Our family recipe for cucumbers is white onions , vinegar and a can of pet milk. First you slice cucumbers and onions , salt and pepper and let sit for a couple of hours. The salt draws a lot of water out of the cucumbers, drain water off of cucumbers. Add apple cider vinegar and the can of pet milk. We put over potatoes or bread. Yummy 😊
