I really appreciate your perspective! I also love China and its people - the culture, the history, and the warmth of the people are truly amazing. It’s always great to share positive experiences and respect each other’s views.

Chongqing is famous/ infamous in China for 1. Fog city (fog through the river valley via two huge rivers, atmospheric but also means its overcast all day) 2. The most beautiful women in the country (this is a centuries old moniker, I doubt there's much difference nowadays from anywhere else) 3. Gritty and poor -almost all Chinese cities have cleaned up, Chongqing not so much. Lately that has even become an attraction (80s/ 90s style themed districts) and leant to its 'real' culture and cyberpunk vibes 4. Furnace of China -along with inland Wuhan it gets unbearably hot and humid in summer, 40C with the river humidity 5. Mountain city -three mountain changes intersect at the junction of two rivers, with banks 300-400ft high makes for 3,000 bridges 6. Neon cyberpunk -Driver, Cyberpunk 3000 etc all replicated the cityscape from here. 7. Chilll vibes and chill people 8. Fiery food, the hottest of the already-spicy Sichuanese cuisines. All in all the city might be the most visited in China, possibly the world, but completely unknown outside it (4x more visitors than NYC).

interesting you're alternating the pronunciation of the city between Mandarin, Chong-ching and I heard you pronouncing the city by the Cantonese pronunciation, Cheung-king
@WanderingBluePassportsКүн бұрын
My brain literally flip flops back and forth on how it wants to say it. Haha a few times in this video and the next. I still don't know what this city is called hahaha 🤣 Even when we look at how others say it, some Chong-ching, some Chong-king. Our English brains dictate that it's said "Chong-king"
@futoКүн бұрын
@@WanderingBluePassports in Cantonese it's pronounce with a "...king" instead of "...ching". The first part of the word in both Mandarin and Cantonese sounds very similar...don't worry , every vlogger seem to pronounce as best as they see it

I have a question. If your channel is not monetized by KZbin and you don't get a cent from KZbin, why are there ads before your video plays?
@WanderingBluePassportsКүн бұрын
1. Ads play regardless of channel monetization. This has been the case for KZbin since 2017. Nearly a decade. 2. Courtesy of our first couple China videos we did achieve monetization however, we haven't even hit the minimum payout amount and as such have not been paid any amount, even once yet, as we only got the benchmark recently. 3. You imply that our statement was "we dont get paid", while that's also true as of now, that statement was addressing the comments we get calling us paid shills. The comment is trying to say that nobody, company, corporations, government or individual pays us to have any stance or spread any message. Many accuse us of taking money to spread Chinese or Western Propaganda. I wish, we haven't worked in 7 months and travel ain't cheap 😂

Thank you for sharing your travel experience, and I enjoyed watching them. Just one thing I would like to mention: your video sound. The background music sounds good but your talking is low and blur. It might be my computer problem. Fortunately, I turned on "captions". Wish you all the best for the rest of your trip. 😀

Thanks for watching and thanks for letting us know. We will see what we can do, sound is always the hardest thing for us to manage because we don't run any separate mics or anything.

Zoos just suck in general, keeping animals in captivity just for our entertainment is arguably bad. I'm no hippie ecologist or whatever, but I believe animals aren't stupid and recognize when they aren't in the wild and there's not much you can do about that. Nice video though!
@WanderingBluePassports21 сағат бұрын
Yeah, zoos can be hard. We really love a great zoo but it can be such a gamble. We really really appreciate when zoos specifically stock animals that can't live a normal life in the wild due to injury or similar, or are participating in breeding programs for endangered animals. While no zoo can replicate the wild, there are a few world class zoos that come to mind for animal wellness, unfortunately too many institutions think a zoo is animals in cages for entertainment instead of animals being given a second chance and being used to educate the public on the importance of conservation.

the problem with AQI it varies everyday, that's why it problem if you compare 2 different place just see aqi for that time. online is toxic, and understanding logic pretty low, not expecting so much from youtubers, probably fails in high school level science or maths, so their opinion always taken with grain of salts.
