The video is very informative. I would also like to see how you pack all these stuff in your car .

Great gear! I can't believe all the camp items we bring for car camping. Our family camping trip this past weekend was a big success. Every had a great time and the blueberry cobbler I made in the Dutch oven turned out great.

I am going camping at lake superior with my family (wife, dog and infant). I realized my solo gear doesnt apply and went out and had to buy all new stuff. 10 grand later and I think Im ready to go. Sure adds up fast but hopefully the next trip is about 1% of the price. If they dont like camping Im getting a new family. I actually made my own first aid kit and it was the equivalent of the highest end mymedic kit but instead of 800 bucks I did it for under 300. I got the coleman queen cot/air mattress, an 8 person tent, the jetboil genesis with gsi escappe frypan+ pot, collapisble kettle, collapisble pot, gsi folding cheese grateer, spatula, and tongs. A bluetti 2000w solar setup with 200w panel, thermoelectric 50qt cooler, mr buddy heater, foldable chairs and table. Patagonia sweaters and merino layers for all, baby sleeping bag and dog sleeping bag, infant life jacket, CO monitor, gerber mini cleaver, 2x bear mace, inreach mini2 gps, life straw, new water filter system, down blanket, wool blanket, tarp system, heavy duty stakes, medic kit, dish set, 2x hiking shoes, crocs, tenacious tape, bug nets, travel condiment bottles, 4x different types of nikwax products, 2x types of woolite, camp soap, hard cargo trunk, vortex baseball hat, pack and play black out cover and mosquito net, 2x yeti cups, candle lamp butane attachement, portable fire pit. I think there are probably 20 other things I forgot in that list as well.

This is a great video brother. Thanks for sharing. I am always trying to figure out what gear I get for family camps vs my backpacking trips. I think I have both set, so my new gear focus is on family backpacking. Getting expensive, but I have to give up on trying to take gear out of the family camping boxes and use it for backpacking. You keep it simple and I needed to see that. Thanks for sharing.

Matt Miller thanks! Yeah I understand that struggle. We have a few things that cross over from camping to backpacking but we wanted to have a car camping kit that was totally separate so we knew it was ready to go every time we wanted to get out. Glad this could help!

Tonya Browning Stanley small cooking kit about $15 comes with cups for coffee stashed inside, Trangia cooking set also stashes and comes with Trangia stove, coffee pot, 2 pots, 1 frying pan, pot holder, windscreen for about $75 Amazon, 2 people set is called #27, if you need bigger #25, smaller for 1 person #28 or also called the mini about $35, the price I told you is for the #27 but is everything but fuel and utensils, fuel for Trangia use Heet yellow container about $1.40 per bottle at Walmart, you can get eating utensils, plates, good coolers etc at Walmart too. Yes, an investment but much cheaper than what’s being shown here. Trangia and Stanley would probably be passed to your kids, they’re build to last. Hope this helps.

What if it rains? No awning for the cooking area? Stand in the rain? : ) Genuinely curious as I've been holding off buying a separate awning but feel like it would be nice...
@BackcountryExposure Жыл бұрын
Most of the time I’ve got a tarp and poles to set up if needed. It just doesn’t rain often enough here that it’s a huge concern. But it’s nice to have a large silpoly tarp to create a cover if needed.

Hello Backcountry how you doing. This was a great video I did enjoy watching your setup. That is a nice family vacation. I have a question sir and I was wondering if you can help? I like the sandals you are wearing. do you know the name of the sandals you are wearing. The reason why I'm asking is I have very very wide feet 4 EEEE WITH FAT WIDE TOE and they do not make shoes wide enough for my feet. I love going hiking but it is very challenging for me to do it barefooted 👣or wearing flip-flops. Flip flops is the only thing that I can wear. I can barely put my Flip-flops on my feet. I have to sit down take my fingers and pull the straps wide enough so I can slide my foot in to my flip-flops. That's how wide my feet. I've been everywhere trying to find shoes for me to wear I've been on website , I've been to stores that do specials, I even been to the big and tall stores which you would thought they would have had cuz I am a big guy 6'2 385Ibs sz14 EEEE WITH fat wide toe and they still didn't have shoes to fit my feet. Everybody in the Big and Tall store could not believe how wide my feet were. Sometimes my flip-flops won't fit my feet and it's embarrassing sometimes. I get frustrated sometimes when this happen and it gives my friend's a real good laugh but my friend's clearly understand my situation and just tell me to go barefooted👣 and don't worry about anything I will help you. I think the sandals will help me because the strap is in the back of the ankle which will allow my toes to slide in to the Sandal a lot easier and the backstrap will probably help keep it on my foot a lot better. I would love to get a pair of those sandals cuz my flip-flops I have to wear those year round even to work and It would be nice to have a second pair of sandals. It really really sucks having wide feet this wide. You take it easy sir and thank you for the video.
