I ran into the same problem when I flew to Tucson. I booked a car through Enterprise online. They denied me because I didn't have a credit card. I was lucky enough to find a local rental company that took cash or debit card.

Were you renting that car one way or local? As the man explained in the video. If he were going local it wouldn't have been a problem, but he wanted to drop the car off in Tulsa not in Las Vegas where he rented it.

We don't use credit cards either. We have a debit bank card with a Visa or MasterCard logo. As long as you have that logo, you can run your debit bank card as "Credit" works like a charm. You won't put your PIN in but it still "debits" the same way it would if you did. Hope this helps. Beautiful vacay with the Fam!!! I'm a native AZ. It is beautiful! My dad loved Dams, so when I was a kid we went to several, including the one you went too. Thank you for all different views of the Grand Canyon. The last time I was there I was a teenager, and was with my dad, youngest sister and only brother. That was 53 years ago. That sunset was beautiful!

I have never been to the Grand Canyon. It truly is beautiful. When you and the boys were hiking trying to catch the sunset and were close to an edge my stomach literally did back flips. I am scared of heights and was panicking just watching. Thank you for taking us along on your family adventure.

When I visited we were able to drive across and went down on elevators to see the inner workings. That’s been many many years ago. Vegas is just not a place I ever want to go back to again. Not my kinda place either. Hope you are having a great time. 🥰

Yup I’ve been there, in KC. Completly agree with you. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a Ross. Best store ever. M and M. My husband went there for business also. I went along. What was the point of the toll gate if you didn’t stop? My neighbor would have fun at the tour under the dam. He works for the local power plant. Where’s all the water? What a fun vacation. We had that same difficulty. Our old Toyota was kind of sketchy for making our trip from Texas to visit the Ark Encounter in Kentucky. Well, we just left and used our old car and the Lord kept us safe the whole wonderful trip! 🙏

Thank You for sharing your vacation with us! We haven't traveled in over 5 years when our youngest son graduated from the Air Force basic training in Texas. We have only traveled to one other place and that was in 2000. We ook 3 of our 5 children to Alaska. We have family there and it was amazing to stay with them and travel all around Alaska. Since they lived there we went to several places that others might not know about. We spent 8 days there and two days in flying to and from Alaska. It was so awesome to make memories with our children. Again Thank You for sharing your vacation with us because we're not sure if we're ever going to get to travel again. My husband impulsively told your kids to get back from the edge. I don't think we will be visiting the Grand Canyon any time soon. 😂 His fear of heights extended through the video. My son thought it was pretty impressive. My husband little brother used to work on the Hoover Dam. He took a big breath in on that one, too. I'm going to go with they want a cc to cover crazy drivers like my old roommate who jumped a curb, went airborne, and hit 2 cop cars 🤦🏼‍♀️. That ninja place was awesome! Glad you all are having fun. We stopped at a Road Kill Cafe in PA years ago. It was inexpensive, and adorable. We even got a printed menu of the Road kill dishes. Thank you so much for taking us along. I have never been to Vegas and its over 50 years since I was to the Grand Canyon. Safe travels.

Sorry about the rental. Only prob I had one time was-I had everything booked ahead, hotels and such, and when I went to pick up car in my home town, they said they didnt have one! After a 3 year tour of military duty we found ourselves and family at the Philly Airport - and like you didn't have a credit card (they were rare back then). We were picking up our cat and dog and with 2 kids we need a vehicle NOW -- had to get in touch with the military liaison to bail us out. So even with military orders we had to get help. I so agree with you and no cards - though I do have a debit card now.

IN N Out have the best burgers;🍔 my son- in - law loves animal fries. Grand canyon views were awesome. Thanks for your education info on all. Saw Hoover dam in the 70's. A friend worked as a guide for the bureau of reclamation, so we saw a lot of the inside. Enjoy your trip..lots of memories to cherish. BEAUTIFUL sunset. Thanks for taking us along.

Thanks for sharing your tours of Hover Dam and The Grand Canyon, two places that I would like visit but know that I won’t make in person. I liked seeing the casinos (on the outside ) but could care less about going inside. Hopefully you’ll continue to enjoy your trip and won’t have any more issues come up.

That's been their policy for 50 years. We couldn't rent a car, for years because of that. Even though we had letters from our employers etc.. we never got approved by Hertz but we by other smaller rental companies. Try other companies. Find one that works With you and give them your best business.

Smaller rental companies most likely won't let you rent a car one way.

I've had that same exact experience with Hertz and other rental car companies. The ONLY way they would let me use my debit card was if I made the reservation more than 24 hours in advance.

How lucky to have a beautiful sunny day for the Grand Canyon! It was overcast and misty for our trip. When we went in 1988 with our kids, many of the amenities, trails, visitors center, shuttle buses were more primitive or nonexistent. Bumper to bumper traffic , inadequate parking. Back then, you found whatever parking you could along the road and walked to some designated viewpoints. Wasn’t the safest. Glad to see the improvements.

My dad had to attend a YMCA convention in Los Angeles, so we drove across country from Michigan, and got to stop and see the sights along the way.
