Its Persimmon fruit or Sharon Fruit or Japani fal or Amlok. Yours needs to ripen a bit to a dark orange or reddish like tomato. Unbelievably tasty almost like a ripe mango.

This fruit in Mumbai is called Simran... When gets ripe it's dark orange or red colour... Yeh fruit nahi khaya, toh nature mein kya khaya... Superb, my mother in law is fond of introducing us with India's unique fruits n veggies... I love this fruit.. very sweet when ripe.. for 2 consecutive yrs, we gifted our relatives boxes of this unique fruits .. they were so happy
