Big year 2024 - This first episode was on Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.
We decided to start our first big year of birding, after having been actively photographing birds in our area in North Carolina.
Let see how many birds we can observe during this 2024.

We went to Playa Del Carmen in Mexico for New Years eve 2024. It was a great start to our big year.
We went on a road trip ,with birding with Steven tour’s, to Yucatan Peninsula. (link bellow) We spend all day with him. Excellent! Very knowledgeable, informative and attentive.
This is our 2nd tour with him! We did End of the road last year and now Ria Lagartos! Both amazing and Highly recommended.
Also part of our tour was a boat trip with our captain William, who took us over Ria Lagartos reserve. It was an amazing tour. Highly recommended as well.
Ria Lagartos - Wonderfully peaceful nature preserve.
The reserve is located at the eastern end of the coastal strip of the Yucatan Peninsula, with the Gulf of Mexico at its northern limit.
The tour was 2 hours in boat. He stopped several times on the way to see the flamingos and different kinds of native birds and plants.
In total we saw 76 bird species.

Wao 79 especies valio la pena ! tremendo trip , muy bueno el video, como sugerencia debes usar algo par el ruido del viento y tambien un microfono para ti conectado ala camara ó al Iphone .Buena idea eso de First Birding Year !
