What's up everyone, we are Naomi and Jack 👋
We are a young married couple who are all about personal growth.
In summer 2020, amidst a global pandemic, we uprooted our lives in Central London and decided to move to Northern Sweden.
We were fed up of living on top of millions of other people in London, living out of one room in a flat shared with Naomi's parents, all whilst studying, working, creating KZbin content and launching our business.
So we bought a car, packed it full of our belongings, and drove nearly 3000km to Sweden with no idea where we were going to live.
This year we are taking time out of studying Medicine and Law to pursue our business, BEAUTYNOIR, the Afro-Caribbean hair and beauty directory helping women to book beauty better.
So join us as we share and document our journey through film.
We are so pleased to share our journey with you and hope to build a community of people who can support one another and grow together.

Canadian here. I love how you are embracing winter, it’s the only way to do it. Merry Christmas to both, or all three, of you. I very nearly moved to Sweden from London myself 20 years ago. Beautiful country. We too had a slow roasted leg of lamb from a local farm, but here it fed five people with leftovers. If you take spruce needles off the tree, you can make a beautiful syrup that’s great for coughs and colds. Check out the medicinal plants of the forests in which you now live.

When u have the opportunity to open the chimney and put in a wood burning stove; here is a tip: keep a tea kettle or a pot of water (with or without essential oils of choice) to put moisture into the air. Your skin won't be so dry and your lips won't chap. Really helps with breathing and comfortable sleeping. We learned that living in British Columbia, Canada. Also, we used Tiger Balm on our hands before putting on gloves or mittens. Then again on the bottom of our feet before putting on socks. It will keep your blood circulating and keep you warm outside for around 4 hours.

Tip: Download the app Mina Paket from PostNord. Some deliveries will be automatically added to it, some you might have to add manually by tracking number. Then you don't have to wait for the "avi". It tells you that your parcel has arrived and you use the tracking number to collect it.

This one brought back some sweet memories for me. One of my Finnish colleagues and I hired one of those Arctic Cat snowmobiles in a place called Härmä (slightly NE of Vaasa), Finland. For 3 hours we travelled through the local forest/s and it was -25C. You never forget an experience like that 🙂

Would highly recomend visiting the north, the views are breath taking specialy in the winter, not so much when it gets to -22c. Happy new year to you too :)

I know what it's like to have people with the attitude "don't bother learning their language - they speak English too"!
