I have all ryobe. My first lawn mower didn’t work well. I tried my luck on a higher end ryobe one and I love it. The saws-all thing was amazing for removing a Brazilian pepper stump and root system. I’m excited to see how you like your new tools! I’m still very very fresh and young with my Florida native journey but I’m learning so much from your videos. Thank you!!!

Those reciprocating saws come in handy, just do not use the battery powered ones to remove oak roots because I burned out a motor last week. I am using mine to remove fan palms and they do not die easy. Good news is that under them I found Florida native blueberries struggling for light.

Oh, please tell me you'll be back tomorrow to show us how you get on with using them. This is the best thing I've watched all year. I had to pause it, & sometimes rewind it, because I was laughing so hard I couldn't hear what you were saying. This was so funny, so real & yet still so informative. Thank you, thank you. I love you guys. (I'm going to watch it again, lol)

Outdoor battery operated power tools was a game changer for me. Ryobi is my brand choice. Set up a charging area in the garage keeps tools organized and charged frustrating to look for a battery that's dead then wait. Have fun!

I use my reciprocating saw for removing large bushes and small trees. You can use a longer blade and just stick it in the ground to cut the roots (using safety goggles and checking for lines). They're great!

I think you made a good call! I've used nothing but Ryobi 40 volt lawn tools for the last 3 years, and I have no regrets! In fact, I'm about to get a newer 40 volt lawn mower that's way more powerful and self propelled. I chose the 40 volt line because our yard has alot of thick grass and weeds, the backyard can grow over a foot tall in a week when it's been raining, which it does here often in the summer. So more power was better for me.

Ah = Amp hour Amp hour (Ah) is a unit of measurement used to indicate how long a battery can provide one amp of power per hour.
@davep6977
@davep6977 4 ай бұрын
exactly. One is 2 amps for an hour or variations there of. Like 1 amp for 2 hours. 1/2 amp for 4 hours

I have basically all the Ryobi battery tools. We have a lawn/landscape company but they don't touch my pollinator gardens so I trim and manage those. They work great. Its worth it to get the big battery so they last longer.

How many engineers does it take to use a weed whacker? LOL I LOVE my Ryobi tools, including my lawn mower. Fired my lawn service two years ago, and bought Ryobi, and have been SO much happier with my yard health.

Leave the hedges be natural for bird habitats. We use a small lawnmower with a catchment bag to give to chickens. But then we have 5 acres that are not yet all gardens. Yes, string spools are important for your weed trimmer. Hammer drills are needed when you live in hurricane country. I recommend mantis tillers to break up the stubborn grass we have here. After that let the roots dry out in the sun. Then put down the cardboard, the mulch and soil amendments.

Little by little, the garage will turn into a Ryobi showroom (...ask me how I know lol). Avoid their table saws, avoid anything they do that is supposed to be a vacuum big or small, and you're golden.

I hope they serve the purpose you bought them for! AH stands for amp hours. It’s the amount of power you have and length of time it will run. Bigger is usually better for power to cut through tough things and for using a tool for a longer period of time.

That weedwacker/hedger is going to be a life-changer for you; and you look totally bada** wielding it. Remember to check the weight and balance of your tools, especially if you are likely to use it for more than 30 min at a time, and switch to something that is more comfortable for you. You know from your job that fatigue from tools that are not quite right for the user increase workplace injuries. Care and feeding of your lithium batteries: 1) always store them fully (at least 80%) charged, so they will be ready and waiting for you, not other way around (plus, they are charged if you need them for storm clean up when power is out) 2) do NOT keep them plugged in when not actively charging 3) IF you remember, try not to pull them down to zero; switch to the backup pack when you notice the motor slowing. 1-3 are IMPORTANT for extending the cycle life of your batteries. Everyone knows all about lithium batteries; we carry them in our cell phones; BUT for less expensive devices, the Battery Management System is not as sophisticated, or downright nonexistent, so we do the workaround. Always pick up additional battery packs when you see a deal on them, so there is at least one or two back-up back-ups ready to cycle into service (store THEM partially charged, don't let them go to 'empty'). Do record the unit AND the battery warranty periods and info in your planner; the batteries will be a "wear" item, YMMV.

2 hour lower power but light weight 4 hours battery good power lasts longer They have a 6 hour battery but heavier. Any box that says tool only is cheaper but not battery included They also have a 6 battery charging station saves space and outlets.

You guys are going to wonder how you got along without those tools all these years! Lol I went with DeWault everything years ago. I noticed that’s what the majority of pro’s use, but I’m hearing alot about Milwaukee tools, too, so I just bought a 6” Milwaukee chainsaw. It’s so fun & perfect for us girls.😊 I’m sure Ryobi is a good brand as well. I don’t think they make anything these days to last long so really wouldn’t matter. We just started using a lawn service last year due to husband having shoulder surgery. Our backyard is super difficult to cut since it’s on a steep slope past the in ground pool plus privacy fence. We have a great lawn service because they happen to be gardeners like me so they are careful. (All of my flower beds are surrounded by decorative block so that surely helps. Lol) My next house WILL be on level ground. That way I can take care of it myself.

I feel your pain, I too live on a sloped lot. But last fall, when the hurricanes hit and everywhere here flooded, I was never so glad that we do. We did not flood, so there is a good side after all, lol. Finding landscapers is very difficult though, none want to deal with slope.
@lindylou3519
@lindylou3519 Жыл бұрын
@@janetta5827 that’s good that your slope probably saved your home. We live on a small lake & have had neighbors basements flood that live down the street from us so the slope has saved our property a couple times.

Take advantage if ryobi days 2 - 4ah batteries and a free brushed tool $100 , or 3 - HP batteries 2,4&6ah plus brushless tools $200. Trimmer, blower, pruning circular saws are a nust fir your property. Later on 40v OPE tools will give you gas powered performance... Regardless stock up in batteries and dint6 firfet to register as Ryobi us excellent when yiur batteries die 3 trs. or tool fails with fast free replacements. I niw iwn 43 - One plus 18v tools 13 Batteries and 6 - 40 Volt OPE from chainsaws, trimmers, Auger and other tools with 8- 40 volt batteries.

Only issue with most of this big box electric gear is if something breaks spare parts can't be sourced. It's sad to see these going in the trash after people spend so much money on them.

I think that is America now for anything. I live in Colombia and they have spare parts stores for everything. Most people have enough cash in the states to just buy new.

@@mwnemo You can't buy a crankshaft for big box electric mowers, this is a common replacement part after hitting something with the blade. It's just something to keep in mind... I have a 2 cycle toro proline 21 purchased in 1996 that I can get parts for.
