Our First Hike of 2022!

The boys and I went for our first hike of the year today! It was about 75 degrees and sunny. A beautiful day to head to the mountains.
Zorro wore his back pack and Oliver wore the little pack for the FIRST time! He was an absolute rock star… as usual!

How do you convince them that grazing time is over & it’s time to walk? If I let mine munch, he’s always diving.

They will do that a bit but I just shorten my lead rope. I will also tap them on the back when it's time to move. They quickly learn that I AM going to allow grazing and it's not the LAST TIME THEY WILL EVER GET TO EAT GRASS. LOL! So they become more and more willing to move because it means we are searching for different and better grass.
