I've been watching you since before the Pandemic and have to say....it doesn't matter how long or short your vlogs are, they are never long enough. I could sit and watch you for hours (days if I didn't have a life to live too). You keep me company at night and during long wet days, you amuse me unendingly with your love of animals (which I share) and your own kitties (which even my kitty likes to sit and watch and listen to) and I feel like I'm sharing the adventures of friends. So thank you so very much for your time and effort and for sharing your adventures with the rest of the world - this little pocket of Queensland Australia really appreciates it at least. And I would have bought the drinking cups and accessories - and was squicked out at the pickled animals EWWW. Watching the road ahead of you as you drove through Argentine was like driving through Queensland about 40 years ago. Good wide roads, and little traffic. Cya on the next one 😃👓 and good luck replacing your sun glasses Snow. 💛

Beef cattle in Brasil, the part where you have been, are Zebu breeds originally from India ( more resistant to tropical weather and parasites). In Argentina are mainly European breeds - Hereford, Angus and such. Climate is colder and these live better there.

Mate is drunk as an infusion (like tea). You put the straw in the "bombilla" ("bulb" - cup), then pack the leaves, then pour the hot water. Do not stir; leave the straw in place. The first cupful is typically bitter, so many will spit out the first cupful of water. Often you can add a little sugar before your water pours like you would with tea, if you take yours that way.

In Rio Grande do Sul "mate" is called CHIMARRAO. It comes from a plant named "Erva-Mate". You will find people everywhere drinking Chimarrao once you visit Rio Grande do Sul. It is a very old tradition, hundreds of years, and even my ancestors, German immigrants assimilate this culture and have grown up seeing my grandparents drinking "chimarrao" early morning, before and after lunch and dinner. It was a time to family sit together and talk. Neighbors visiting each other and enjoying a long afternoon talking about ordinary stuff.
