Did you know that Vigan City was saved because of love? Vigan is a city saved from the damages of war because of a romantic love story between a Japanese and a Bigueña (term for a Vigan woman). A Japanese military commander fell in love to a Bigueña and because that Japanese commander didn't want his loved one left struggling and experiencing a bad life because of the damages of a war, he betrayed the Japanese command for the sake of love. Romantic isn't it? That's why the old houses of Vigan are standing still and it was saved a romance.

Great feature on Vigan. Hotel Luna looks great. Calle is Spanish, so the pronunciation is kal-ye. Also what you rode is a kalesa, not a carousel.

Fun fact: vigan is a mixed of spanish, chinese, native influences and even mexican. Not solely Spanish. Thank you. I live in vigan so what I observed mostly from tourist is that they come here to just admire the spanish and forgot it's actually a mix of this and that. The facade is heavily spanish but the windows are asianized. The tile rooftops are actually influenced by chinese and the use of wood etc are asianized. There is a jar factory that survived and dates back to chinese trading era. Pipian is a popular food found only in vigan which was brought by mexican. You should have tried it.

Thank you for this comment. I think when talking about the architecture it’s really important to emphasize it’s a mix of cultures. The capiz shell windows look like East Asian inspired windows and the tile roofs have that Chinese slant to it so this style is unique to the Philippines.

3:15 hotel Luna boast it's most expensive grand sala in the north. They have some of the most pricy paintings of our national artists. I wonder why you didn't included it to be shared in your video. I think the hotel itself is worth featuring as a separate vlog

Hindi ako nasarapan sa pagkain sa Hotel Luna. Mas prefer kong mag stay sa Villa Angela kasi mas homy ang Villa Angela kasi old Spanish .Mansion eto, hindi ostentatious at hindi commercial ang feeling. Parang feeling mo ay tumira ka lang sa isang family house dahil parang kasambahay lang yon mga crew ng Villa Angela Mansion. Tumira rin si Tom Cruise sa Villa Angela at malaki ang compuond at meron malawak na lawn garden.
