If you want scary and stuff like that, the castle of corvins is the place you want to go to. Its located in Hunedoara. That thing is truly scary no matter what time of the year you visit it in. Torture chambers, scary tomb like places, dungeons and all of that, lots of towers. Muuuch much better if thats what you’re looking for 😂

Vegan options exist because there are a lot of strict Orthodox Christians who follow the fasting rules... It can get up to 180-200 days of fasting per year for the hardcore ones.

Amazing! Amazing!! Amazing!!! Video did not disappoint, as usual. The Castle looked not quite as expected but I do think I'd like to visit that one. Hopefully Dan's tonsils settled. Here in Aus they are conservative about tonsils too. I believe it's now more of an age/ an adult thing. It's much more dangerous, for want of a better word , to remove them once you are an adult, I was told. I missed out as a kid & spent years getting sick. Mine have settled thankfully for a few years now but I know the pain very well. Looking forward to the next video!

Romania is heavily religious, in Orthodox Christianity you have a lot of periods of "fasting" where you cannot eat meat. That explains a lot of the vegan options.

The reason why we have spany vegan options is because, traditionally, for a few months a year we need to fast. By fasting I mean we have to completely eliminate any animal product - so basically go vegan.

Few corrections..Bran castle is NOT in Transylvania but just across the border in Wallachia.and Vlad the Impaler never set foot in Bran castle ,at most maybe he just passed by it
@mihaipopescu83302 жыл бұрын
Wrong: Bran Castle is in Transylvania not Wallachia, it was built by german settlers based on a special approval signed by KIng Ludwig I (1342-1382) on 17 November 1377.. The name of the village is Bran in Romanian or Törzburg in German. Bran has nothing to do with Walachia, even today the border between Transilvania and Walachia is south of Bran. Also Bran is located in Brasov County BV, not in Arges County AG.. Brasov is Transilvania, Arges is Walachia. Further south from Bran is Campulung , which is in Walachia AG, even its name was once Langnau which means large field in german, and Campulung/Lagnau was also fortified by german Saxons from Transylvania BV. Partially right: Vlad the Impaler never lived in Bran castle but for sure he set foot there as he use to travel very often to visit his saxon love from Brasov/Kronnstadt, Katharina... It was impossible not to stop in Bran/Törzburg when you travel from Targoviste to Brasov. In medieval times the traffic between Transylvania and Wallachia was organized through Ruker-Bran Valey not through Prahova Valey as it is today. So probably Dracula used to stop to Bran after the border to refuel its horses and to drink a coffee.

@Zdamaneta2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we are not a touristy country to be honest. We are among the least visited countries in Europe I think but not because it's not safe, it's just that there's no interest by the government to invest in tourism or to promote the country. Being a touristy country has its pros but cons as well.
@OrolesMagnus2 жыл бұрын
Transylvania was up until 1918, part of the Kingdom of Hungary, the Hapsburg empire and the Austro-Hungarian empire, also many colonists came from the German states to settle, they are the ones that built the city of Brașov (Kronstadt in German).

Transylvania=an historic Romanian province same like Banat or Moldova or Dobrogea, there is no”Transylvania and Romania” Bran castle has been transformed into Dracula’s castle for tourism only :) “Vlad-the emperor” never actually lived there, you should visit Maramures and the Danube Delta(at least) to have a clue about Romania, ask your friend Cristi 👍 , for cities try Cluj+Iasi+Timisoara (biggest university centers along Bucharest - there are internal flights from Bucharest few times/day ), for castles try Corvin and Peles (a real former Royal residence)😉
