Not being linked with PC is going to be their biggest mistake, just like when Wiz first released on Steam. I am absolutely, under no circumstances, going to play on console, if it means I can't pick up where I left off on my computer. The only reason I wanted to play on Wizard101 console was during a hard time in my life when I didn't have access to PC for several years due to domestic issues. (Not financial). If they don't give us cross-play and/or cross-progression, they are gonna drop the ball harder than they ever have before

In the ki live they mentioned *why* they aren’t able to do cross play…. It’s at min 22:18 if you wanna watch the replay…. They basically said their company isn’t big enough or makes enough money to do cross play… and apparently other games that have cross play like fortnite have to jump through many hoops like paying lawyers n stuff to even make cross play possible….

Dev server sometimes has an extra potion in general (5 total), so it might have 4 at level 50 because the Khrysalis potion isn't included.

I'm personally really happy that the servers are gonna be fresh honestly, it's gonna be so nice seeing everyone progressing through the game at the same time, giving that "new' mmo feeling while still being an old mmo.

In theory that sounds great. But I bet we have to buy the game, or pay another membership. And then open packs for gear and spells on top of that. It’s just a lot of commitment that we’ve already done before. Unless the microtransactions are gonna be handled better, i doubt the console version will convince enough current players to start over.

I know a lot of ppl are complaining about no cross play, but me and ~15 friends of mine want to play primarily because there is no cross play and everyone has to start fresh. This is one of the most attractive parts of playing a new game (especially an MMO like this) everyone is fresh and has nothing. This will attract new players which is what the game needs

@@FastGunner2040Because the big guys (Nintendo, Sony, and Xbox) aren’t letting KI do cross-progression. They talked about this already on the KI Live stream, saying how they WANT to have cross-progression with PC, but the negotiations with the big console companies didn’t follow through, and they would have to jump through legal and financial loopholes just to get it working. Hopefully that’ll change in the future, given that there’s other games that have to deal with similar issues.

As a player since 2009 im looking forward to the separate console servers. Kind of as a reset and where the game isnt over inflated with perfect pets, gardens, and everything else. Also the increased population of players in worlds and dungeons for all levels is something i think will be great.

I am still super excited for this to come out since it means I have an ease of access to play since I don't have a PC anymore. Wizard101 could probably play on a Wii and have zero issues. It's an ancient game at this point. But it'll also most likely be playable on Switch 2 when that releases, which would be an even better experience.

yeah you're right. the load screen is way too long. every area you enter the load screen seems too long. the servers must be ancient.

I feel like not doing cross-play is such a weird choice. The reason I still play this game is that there are still tons of people playing. If they launch this on console with the paywall as it is right now, this will be dead on release. They better have something up their sleeves. The console servers need to do at least arc1 for free... to attract completely new players but also to make players that are already playing the game switch over to console and give it a try to experience everything from a completely fresh server. Also the controller interface seems very supoptimal.

Still curious to see how it’ll work, but I know that cross-progression isn’t available due to issues with the big console companies. They said on the KI Live Stream there’s a lot of complicated business discussion they had to do with Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft. Don’t know what happened in the business talks, but KI is supposedly not allowed to have the financial and legal support necessary to run cross-progression. I don’t know much about how business works, but it apparently has to do with KI being too small of a company or something like that. Hopefully they’ll figure out something to bypass the early paywall though, because they need to make sure console players can still play plenty of the game.

i think the way the arrow works for console is the directional pads on the controller which is weird if thats the case to not use the right analog stick like other games have done to control it and use b or whatever to discard in battles and stuff

Would wizard city and krok be free or to go to the other worlds you have to have membership or the DLCs I had a feeling it wont be cross play and link accounts just yet since it's the first time on a console. I will download it just to see how it play would I go all in maybe not I play once a blue moon only because on PC my main account all my wizards are in the last 3 worlds and my second account all my wizards are in ZF fire is in Polaris and I get on that account when wizard is free for a week so I might not even play like that when it comes on console.

You have to look at it like they're trying to make a PC game for consult that has a lot of different functions at that the first thing. Another thing they can do is customize to more frequent taps. Easier to access that would help a lot. In all honesty, 2026 would be a safe bet. Doing it this year may be a bit of a rush. Depending on how much attention it gets. Putting it in a separate server is smart, so it would isolate. The amount of bugs that may come up rather than put in it with the PC side on making much more of an issue in that regard. Excited for it nonetheless. However, Time and care is what will make it better.

@ yeah, right now for Xbox gamepass ultimate it’s already $20 a month, now I’m gonna have to spend another $10 a month just to start all over on wiz. That’s not even including any crowns I spend either to get all the mounts and gear or whatever from the crown shop. I love wizard101, but id rather for this to be delayed another year, let them work out the kinks then for them to release it too soon and its a epic fail and cost them a lot of money. idk. i mean i am ready and anxious for it to be released but just dont wanna be disappointed. also being on ps4 people can just do party chat, and chat with mics instead of using the menu chat.

I thought they would of given us a mouse/cursor to use. Like some games on Xbox have for example: Roblox and Pixel Strike 3D. I guess the scrolling through options is preferable for some people. But I would of liked a cursor personally.

According to one of the articles I've read, Wizard101 will be on Xbox SeriesX/S, PS5, and Switch. I'm not sure about Wizard101 being on Xbox One and PS4.

Maybe if its not a ridiculous amount like millions or billions of dollars it could be something that can be community funded. Love the idea, its execution is wrong. Cross progression would be best for it from how much time everyone already played. The other concern, is ( could be wrong) but if it’s a diff account that’s a mother account with membership so pay almost double (less with fan accounts) for the same experience. I’ll stick on pc.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: They need to release this game on mobile, not console. Mobile gaming market is massive compared to console, and this game would be a perfect fit for touch screens. If they could manage to do it, it would bring in a lot more money than console version EVER will.

Cool for new players that don't have a computer, useless for long time pc players. I've spent way too much time and money on my account for pets, gear, couch potato farms, unlocking every area with crowns, jewel farming, reagents, mounts, energy gear, gauntlets, bundles etc to start over fresh. I swear they don't even play the game themselves, they just care about milking every cent from us. They have no passion or love for this game and the players whatsoever anymore. Whoever thought it was a good idea to make it separate from pc needs to be fired.

I've been playing this game for almost a decade. This console port isn't to get new players its to make returning players return and current players play and support other platforms. The issue is NO returning or current players are going to get off an account they've spent thousands and thousands of dollars on to restart on an inferior console version with probably 15% of the player base of PC. I asked for Wizard101 on console and Mobile for YEARS with the hope that I'd finally be able to play with my friends and my wizard on those select platforms. But, of course like always Kingsisle finds a way to F it up.

something that wiz needs is honestley a graphics refresh and some gaming mechanic they just refuse to change the game, the game has pretty much remain the same since 2008. Doing this would be a good time to bring new players into the game, the game really feels outdated and out of touch with the current world.
