When you told Matt to ride his tractor home it reminded me of memory from the 80’s. Southern small town eccentric life. In our town of about 300, we had a couple that were so fun!!!! His name was Commodore and her name was Josephine. He didn’t have a car or truck but he did have an old tractor so when they came to town he pulled a wagon with his tractor and she rode in the wagon, singing all the way. No one thought a thing about it. Bless them!!!! Nothing beats southern rural life!!!

I haven’t grown corn in about 7 years. I'm a fellow KZbinr, I would appreciate it if y'all would keep my oldest daughter Jessica and her family in your prayers. They live in Arkansas and a tornado went through their area last Saturday and it destroyed their home. Three huge trees fell on and into their house. It will be a total loss because of structural damage, praise the Lord they were not home. A beam from the ceiling went through my grandson’s bed. Thank you!

I’m so excited for you all to have this huge space to grow your corn in. I pray your corn works out for you this year. It’d be so nice just to have your own right there to enjoy any time you want it. The creek is so beautiful. What a magical thing it’s been for everybody in so many individually different ways. Your whole place feels magical to me, and I am so grateful that you all share it with us here. I feel like I can sort of have a little taste of that magical peace too. Thank you for that gift. It makes a difference in my life in a very real way now that I am in this dang old wheelchair and can’t get out and be in nature like I used to. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Be well & take care.

I really miss the big garden momma & daddy had every year. Momma was 37 when I was born, but they still had the huge garden til after I got married (I'm youngest of 4 & soon to be 66 yrs old!) I remember helping them can & put stuff up in the freezer. After they got older, they still had a garden, just not as big, maybe a third of the old one. May 21st made 20 yrs daddy's been in heaven. I've been a widow now for almost 3 months. It's still very hard. I love getting to see y'all garden and spend time together. Thats what a good life is all about! May God bless y'all with a wonderful bounty from all the gardens & another precious grandson very soon! Love & blessings from VA! ❤️‍🩹🙏🥪🍅🥕🌽🥔🍓🥒🫒🌶🧅

Years ago, my husband and I planted corn in a field a little bigger than that…I could hardly walk the next day!!! It grew beautifully until we had a bad wind storm, and it laid the corn down…we were devastated. Then, if by magic, it righted itself in about 24 hours and we didn’t lose a stalk!! We had quite the harvest for freezing🌻 I’ll never forget that summer❤

Matt & Tipper are happiest staying busy doing what they love to do and I appreciate & admire how they take so much pride in ALL they do. Was happy Matt decided to get Pap's tiller which did save him time & hopefully better for his back too. He had more time for his & Tipper's garden side chat. Wishing you a bountiful season. God Bless & Love Y'all.

God Bless y'all both! Nobody realizes what at workout a garden can be unless they've actually had to run a tiller or hoe the rows. It's amazing how tired you can get and the new muscles you can find that you didn't know you had! Lol! My Granddaddy had a big garden and I remember him using the old tractor and the tiller on it and everyone else out there hoeing it behind him. To keep the deer out of his big garden, he planted a pea patch on away from the garden and half tended it for the deer to eat. It helped keep them away from our garden! Ms. Tipper, the easiest tool my Great Grandma had to work with was a hoe that a friend had cut the blade of it where it was in a point shape, like a triangle. It was small, pointed, and very accurate. Maybe you can have someone make you one like that. Sending y'all Love and Best wishes from Memphis!~

As an Iowa girl, there is nothing better than sweet summer corn- drenched in butter with a little bit of salt- so good! My cousin grows a huge patch of sweet corn on our farm among the acres and acres of feed corn he plants. We put up corn every summer and enjoy it all winter long! Enjoy!! Do you have problems with deer and racoon? One year a herd of deer wiped out all our sweet corn overnight and that was with electric fence...so sad!

Can't wait to see the corn 3' tall and waving in the wind. A farmer in a nearby community years ago planted acres of corn and set up an honor stand on the highway. That was designated for his kids' college fund and they're now graduated. His corn is ready in June and people for miles around can hardly wait for it. We hope he continues growing corn.

Such a beautiful spot for the garden, by the creek. I always think gardening and preparing and preserving the food is a spiritual thing. You see God's hand everywhere. Yall need a little spot cleared out in that creek to just lay down in it, to cool off after you work the garden. Wouldn't that be a treat? A popsicle while you lay in the creek. That's living LARGE!

Oh Lord that you would put a hedge of protection around Matt and Tipper’s garden they really want that corn. 😅 love the video. That tree was so cool with the rocks 🪨. Brooks Oregon. My husband loved the onion baked with cheese. Thanks 🙏

I could listen to the sound of water running down your creek all day. ❤ I do believe that Matt is the hardest working man I’ve ever seen. Tipper I know you and your girls appreciate all of Matt’s hard work as much as he appreciates all that y’all do too. You and your family are such a godly example for young people today.

That creek beside the garden is so peaceful. There's just something about the sound of natural running water like that.

Had our first corn on the cob for supper tonight. It was decent, but not like right out of the field. We have a condo now and we sure miss the garden we had 5 years ago. We now have a few tomatoes in planting bags on the patio and they look good. Bush varieties seem to work best in bags. They were out of the Cherokee Purples at the green house. We did get the last German Johnson they had. Love y'all.

A big garden for sure is a lot of work but the bounty sure makes it worth it , my job when I was a kid was hoeing the tomatoes and potatoes, I remember that I hated hoeing.
