Fat Joe is that artist who made good albums and great songs, but FAt Joe was very strategic in playing the hiphop game. -------- In control of the publishing, the music, the business, the touring, his artist and so forth. The same can be said for Ganstarr, Tribe CAlled Quest, EPMD. ------ The hip hop can easily go sideways if you are not in control of your shit, because of that you had so many artists have one hit an fizzle out. ------ The reason you even heard of Fat Joe is the fact that he had radio hits and street hits. ------ He was sure to maintain credibility by making street stuff. But locked up that hiphop 401k by making a few radio bangers. Fat Joe was strong and steady in the hip-hop game for over 2 decades. He wasn't the shooting comet that Biggie, TuPac and Big Pun were.

RZAs genius is sometimes lost bc people don’t realize it but at the beginning of puns verse he says Prodigy deck and me QB is Bronx trilogy lyrically hazardous for your health In between saying QB and Bronx rza samples the word Shaolin which is slang for Staten Island… it completes the reference for all 3 boroughs being referenced.
