Awesome and I'm am happy you stopped as you may have saved a life-- I'm in Canada and we get a ton of snow, so ya on a mountain it has it's own kind of ice on the roads -- Slippery when wet so ice would be dangerous for sure -- We us studded tires on that ice -- we have laws in some provinces that you have to use winter tires after 15 Oct. -- Cradle Mountain was beautiful and I'm so glad you took me a long . Thank you -- Mad love from the east coast of Canada :) Stay safe

Canada would be a whole different ball game for sure! 😅❄️ I (Lydia) remember as a child when my parents were debating between moving to Australia and Canada my dad was showing us videos of how hectic the winters get over there. It’s smart to have those laws in place to keep everyone safe. What a beautiful place to live though, Canada is very high on our bucket list. 😍 In Aus snow isn’t that common and is typically only in alpine regions (it doesn’t snow at all in our home state of WA) so laws around winter tyres/snow chains are only enforced at the ski resort areas. And thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the video! 💙

😮 I LOVE WOMBATS❣️ The baby & mom are so adorable. I'm so happy you didn't crash, you did the right thing by getting help and resting afterwards. Cradle Mt., Dove🕊 lake and Ronny Creek (wombat poo 💩 too) & WOMBATS❤! I've only seen videos of them and I got to watch you both take great footage of them. The sunny 🌞 day was perfect. I haven't finished watch cuz I want start commenting. The little spikey animal reminds me of a hedge hog & a porcupine.

So glad you’re enjoying the video! 💙🙏 The wombats were amazing, such a special experience. Especially having the baby come right up to us 🥹 And the echidna was adorable too! Lydia has seen hedgehogs before but this was our first time seeing an echidna (besides in passing when one was crossing the road in Vic).

@@lydiaandwehan Wehan, I noticed that you called the echidna an enchilada, while Lydia called it the correct name. An enchilada is a Mexican dish consisting of a corn tortilla rolled around a filling and covered with savory sauce.

I think Wehan was secretly hinting at enchiladas cause he wanted them for dinner! 😉🤣 Wehan and I usually give silly nicknames for animals as a joke but calling Echidnas Enchiladas is one we can’t help but keep saying in public!

Such a horrible feeling losing control, we were terrified which we didn’t really show in the video. We only picked up the camera an hour and a half later when we had calmed down and had help. Thankfully we ended up ok but we’ll definitely be even more cautious going forward 😬 And thank you! 💙

It's amazing to see the completely new animals there. The only thing we have in the U.S. similar to that spikey, little brown cutey (what is the name?) Is a porcupine. But they are much larger, more black and have long quills. Love seeing this all. Thank you!
@lydiaandwehan

We always feel the same when we see any animals from the US, we'd love to see them all in person one day whenever we make our way over there! Porcupines look so cool, they have such long quills in comparison 🤯 The little guy in our video is an Echidna, they're super cute. In Tasmania they're a little fluffier (because it's colder here ❄️), on the mainland they're a bit spikier.

I've been enjoying ya vids in Tassie guys, I live an hours drive from Cradle Mt on the NW coast. The section of the road where ya's got stuck is notorious for that happening! I had to slide down in reverse on the western side one day in the same situation, was a bit sketchy. 😬😂😂 Keep the great content coming!

So glad you've been enjoying the videos, thank you! Eish, sounds rough 😬 We felt so silly at the start as if we should have known... it was almost a relief to hear the other locals on the day say they wouldn't go down it either. And to hear you had the same experience! I'm guessing now you just avoid the road as soon as the weather gets icy/snowy? Definitely jealous that you live in Tassie, we've quickly fallen in love with it over here. 🏔️

This was filmed in September. You can get snow almost anytime of year in Tassie however, during our 6 months there we had snow a few times in different months. They've even just had some snowfall over the last week ❄️ Most of the time the council clear the road in the morning and ensure it's safe for everyone but on our visit we set out super early in the morning and the snow cradle received was way more than they predicted. Hope you have an amazing time in Tassie, we're sure you will! 💙

Hey hey! Thank you so much, we hope you have an amazing time in Tassie! We've just answered this for someone else, I'll attach our response below. 'This was filmed in September. You can get snow almost anytime of year in Tassie however, during our 6 months there we had snow a few times in different months. They've even just had some snowfall over the last week ❄️ Most of the time the council clear the road in the morning and ensure it's safe for everyone but on our visit we set out super early in the morning and the snow cradle received was way more than they predicted.' As you only mentioned visiting Hobart I thought I'd add that majority of the time Tassie only gets snow at high elevations so most areas you won't have to worry about snow at all. Main snow spots are Ben Lomond, Cradle Mountain & Mount Wellington. The council is across these areas safety wise, Ben Lomond you can only drive with snow chains and Mount Wellington the road usually gets closed off to the public and their buses can take you up.

@lydiaandwehan
@lydiaandwehan Жыл бұрын
We have and we did consider getting some actually but snow is not common in Aus (it doesn't snow at all in a few states and typically only snows in Alpine regions within Australia). Tasmania is the state that’s a little more unpredictable with snow. 🙃 We’d only driven about 50km that day and went from sunny and completely fine roads 90% of the drive to thick snow within a matter of seconds. While chains would have helped with the snow they wouldn’t have helped with black ice unfortunately so we still would have had to stop where we did. We’ll definitely just avoid heading to the alpine regions when any snow is forecasted going forward but if things change and we do end up around alpine regions we’d definitely get snow chains. ❄️
@leighmcdermott2330

@@lydiaandwehanDo not take any notice of the snow chain comment. If that person had any idea they would know you cant fit or use snow chains on a main road in Tasmania, they are for offroad use only.
