I just came across your story, what a wonderful story between both of you. Being indian, I love korean foods, too. I use to work in korean construction companies, when I was in Saudi Arabia. There were so many korean constructions in Saudi that time. I worked with Hyundai, Redec, Keang Nam, Namkwang, Hankook Koonoop, etc etc and got to eat korean foods like, Bulghogi, Dakghogi, Mulghogi and the nice spicy Kimchi. There also use to serve a nice spicy and cold qucumber drink, as it was hot in summer. They even taught me the korean national Anthem, which was "Arirang. I still haven't forgotten it.
