This was so interesting and captivating. The glos prison certainly has a long crazy history. So well filmed, narrated and thought out. You've really made me want to go there. I'm so surprised to hear that the prison was for children too. Seeing the cells and inside them, you can imagine how sad, lonely and mind numbing it would have been. Absolutely brilliant! thank you for sharing x

Your welcome, the history is so engrossing. It will get knocked down at some point. The council want to sell it but it's not value for money as a developer would have to find all the bodies and there are still Castle foundations underneath. It is a very creepy place, its not a place I'd want to spend the night. M&T

This was superbly done. Excellently narrated, filmed, and, particularly, very well edited with the multi-photo overlays and graphics. Very interesting backstory too. My cousin's husband used to work there in the 1980s. I wonder what will come of the building? Great stuff 👍☺️📷 Cheers, Paul
@MikeandTeresaExplore2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul, not sure what will come of the building. I don’t think any builder would want to be digging up all those bodies. At present it’s not a financial option to build on and the current owners are making lots of money from events.

Hey Mike and Teresa, great to meet you last week Mike!! This is great, in a gruesome, weird sort of way!! It looks very similar inside to Shrewsbury Prison. The Disney characters we're a bit freaky. Wow, 7 year old and 9 year old, very sad stuff. We'll have to check the ancestors link. Really enjoyed this!!! Top work!

@@MikeandTeresaExplore We could tell that you really wanted to visit the prison too, we were gutted for you that you didn't. Yes, we got some great footage, can't wait to share it with you. We're thinking that the Shrewsbury video will go out on 6th November. We're in that rare position of having a few videos in the bag. I'm just working on a Halloween special at the moment which I think you might like. Did you mention about having a Jack the Ripper video coming out soon? Can't wait to see that!!! Cheers

Sorry thought I'd replied, yer it was a shame I wasn't able to go in but these things happen. Yes we've a done a Jack the Ripper video and have finished early was going to release it weekend of Halloween but going to do it early (Thursday) then try and get Shrewsbury done for Halloween.

Hi Alice. yes out on good behaviour. Agree this is a very grim place with surprising bad history. I’ve so much more info regarding all the hangings just didn’t have much video to go with it. Another time perhaps.

Wow very interesting. Interesting that it housed very young children as well. Did you experience any paranormal activity whilst you were there? Very brave Teresa. I would be the same as you Mike and wouldn’t want the door shut! Really interesting to have a walk about there. Thanks for sharing 😊

Hi Yasmin, yes we were surprised how young the children were. It was too busy to know if there was any paranormal activity it is certainly a very creepy place to visit. Hi there, well I discovered something weird today ( well tonight actually being Down Under) I had subscribed ages ago and for some reason you've been dropped off my list. No idea how that happened. Apologies - but I'm back. I truly am in the dark as to what happened. What an interesting and sort of gruesome tale. Two boys 7-9 jailed because they stole- possible because they were hungry. Barbaric. Those were bad times. Thanks for the share. Clear commentary. My compliments. 👍🇳🇱🙋♀🇳🇿

Hi Ellie, yes its possible to still book a tour. They are not very often and not easy to find. I can get a link site if that helps. Ohh, do you have the name of your grandad ? I've a wealth of info about the prison, I'd got a book from a local historian again I can post more info if your interested. Watto has mentioned you when we've been out. Take Care M&T

@@MikeandTeresaExplore I've been working on my family tree for years and years, but I've yet to take an in-depth look at my g.granddad. I'll visit the prison one day, maybe next time I'm down. I've private messaged you on insta with what little I know of him. Think he had a rotational position which meant he moved from prison to prison. It's interesting stuff looking at what your ancestors used to do. Take care, Ellie.
