You pay tax (property, income, sales Etc). Why don't you use the schools, buses, that benefit you?

There are a variety of reasons a family may decide to homeschool, and I’m not going to get into my personal reasons in this comment section. I will say you can think of it like this, my taxes also pay for food stamps. I don’t use the food stamp program because I have another way to provide food for my family. I’m thankful the program exists and if I needed to use it, I would, but I can feed my family whatever I choose without any strings attached, so that’s what I’m going to continue to do. I’m also going to briefly mention something interesting. I know a lot of homeschoolers don’t agree with it because once you begin taking from government programs you’ll find you have less and less freedom, but many states are beginning to recognize educational freedom and some have implemented programs that allocate those tax dollars that would normally go to the school for a child to the parents of the child so they can choose to educate them as they see fit. I’m all about educational freedom and it’s refreshing to see some governments trying to honor that.
