The evo 3 ute thing was (at least sold in the UK) as a proton jumbuck. They shared a platform with a mitsi charisma, so therefore can have evo bits bolted on. Kinda cool. A few motor factors had them as parts haulers round my way.

You are right, in Malaysia we call it proton arena, and there are sedan model too, its called proton wira that shared mitsubishi lancer platform, and for coupe we called it proton putra, this three model you can bolt on evo 1,2,3 front end, for engine you got plenty of choice mitsubishi engine that you can use, of course the popular one is 4g63t engine(evo2&evo3), this kind of modification is very popular in Malaysia, it because proton was working with mitsubishi from 1985 until 2015 if i not mistaken.

Sweet leaping lizards the first grey S15 was so damn sexy. (i think the best of show was a different one, still sick) Its like if Nissan made a Porsche lol. Cant wait til they are importable in the US, may make enough to buy one by then lol (edit: yeah the black S13 was sick too... God i love S15s lol, 13 and 14s are cool too but man ....)

Even as an American I feel like some of the best stuff GM was doing at the time towards the end came from Holden tho. There was other decent high end GM stuff but the G8/Commodore etc comes to mind. And like they said, it's very Aussie (tho so are JDM imports) and to be clear I love the GS and anything Lexus/Toyota/Nissan/Acura/Honda etc.
