OMG, you guys! Your energy never ceases to amaze me. I am NOT a fan of butcher block. I agree with Curt. Never thought of Formica BUT the cost is so much less than quartz, and we've used it at our beach place to save money. I bet you could find some super cool looks. (Can't wait to see that). I love the idea of all the can lights and putting wood on the ceiling! I think well worth the effort and overall warmth it will add. YOU two do not need any special backdrop, any place works! As far as the TV dilemma, one TV. Most people are going to a football game or actually visiting someone and going out. Put in a super big TV and wrap around, comfy sofa for movies, etc. And I know you can find a fabulous one. Unless someone is staying long term, Airbnb's are more for sleeping. As far as dining goes, I agree most people are not going to cook a big meal, but rather sit down in front of the TV. Having barstools (do you?) and your small dining table is perfect when in the kitchen but not two dining areas. Now to the Geodome, you have got to use that as a "cool" hideaway. Since you this will be an Airbnb special, I wouldn't overkill (ie beer on tap), but a wine fridge, small minibar, and seating all around with mood lighting. That would be so cool to design. I can't wait to see what you decide and let us know any time you get back down to Troy or LB. We'd love to see you!

Thank you so much!!! Okay, I'm seriously thinking of Formica, but I just really want Quartz. I agree with you on only one TV but Curt and alot of other seems to think two is essential!!! Okay dining room ideas are good. Yes I agree so much with you on the Geodome ideas!! A small minibar, wine fridge, and mood lighting would be great!!!!

I like your videos in front of the Orange Fridge. You were my inspiration and I purchased an Orange Fridge as well!!! White quarts in the kitchen: swap TV’s-put the biggest TV on the wall in the second room- the smaller one could go in a bedroom (get rid of that TV stand). I am from the south with football fans-gotta have space to yell at the TV!! GO VOLS!

YAYYYYYY!!! I am sooo Happy yout got an orange fridge too!!!! I think quartz in the kitchen is a good call. Swapping the TV's is also a good idea, and yes that stand has got to go. Yes fans def need space to yell at the TV, Curt loves football and basketball way too much!!! XOXO

Hmm…okay 1) we have stayed almost exclusively at Airbnbs in our travels for the past 6 years and NEVER watch TV. Having ONE TV is plenty 2) We rarely eat at tables in Airbnbs b/c we either eat out or get takeaway and eat whilst sitting on comfy chairs and make our little sit at whatever table/island available 3) Film wherever you’re comfortable 4) the funky “crap” room would be a perfect “I Dream of Jeannie” lounge/bar area - do it! 5) the counter top (guess that was the first dilemma but oh well - I think I’d go with quartz (no veining!) or maybe just replace the butcher block. I agree the warmth wood brings is rather nice, and it looks like your current counter is just a bit past it’s prime. Why not just start over with new?

OMG Thank you much for typing this out! We really appreciate all of the feedback! Okay, I think we will go with ONE TV. I'm really thinking of working on the YT Studio to make it easy to film consistently. We don't want to start over with a New Butcher Block because Curt still hates maintaining it 🙃 We may go with quartz, that is a very nice touch! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts!!!! XOXO Cheers!!!!

Two TVs are a must during football season. Good chance guests will want to watch multiple games...

Is Corian still a thing? I remember back in the early 90's it was a pretty popular solid surface counter top alternative.
@AmyCotney Жыл бұрын
I have been thinking of Corian, might bring it back into style!! 😂

I'm curious about what you would think of a product that maybe in keeping with the period of the home? Like if they used Formica countertops in the 60's what is a product that we have today that might be comparable?? (If Formica is no longer available.) 🤔
@AmyCotney Жыл бұрын
Not against it! They actually have some very cool Formica colors that could work! Cheer! XOXO

@@AmyCotney 🤗 (I wonder how durable it is. I'm guessing you want durability and maintenance free, with the home being a rental. Cation for those times people forget to use a cutting board or spill their grape juice. 😉☺️🍷
@AmyCotney Жыл бұрын
Yes we would love it to be durable and maintenance free without sacrificing too much on appearance! Basically we want the perfect countertops HAHA
@sunshinestuart4847 Жыл бұрын
What about sanding down the butcher block countertop and float a thick coat epoxy over them.
@AmyCotney Жыл бұрын
That's a great idea! The only problem is that Curt despises maintaining the butcher block counter top 🙃
@sunshinestuart4847 Жыл бұрын
We have cement counters with epoxy overlay. No maintenance and I love them❤️

P.S. (sorry, I got interrupted yesterday & didn't get to finish the video)... OMG I LOVE the Geodome!! So many possibilities! I love Amy's idea for a sofa and lava lamps. Is it a possibility for your office space Amy? Would that give you more room to back up? Or is there the draw back of it isn't climate controlled & no bathroom?? Still, SO many options, what a cool space. (Aren't they safer in hurricanes or tornadoes because studies have shown the wind somehow can go around that shape better?? Maybe it's only certain domes??? Sorry, off topic 😆) Love you guys!
@AmyCotney Жыл бұрын
I would love to do a sofa and lava lamps inside the GEODOME!!!! Also, we might be able to do lava lamps in the studio!!! We don't, however, have enough space for a sofa right now :( The studio is climate controlled the Geodome is currently no. The studio is right next to a bathroom, the geodome is not. I have absolutely no idea if it's safer in hurricanes or tornadoes HAHAHA 😎
