4:47 really hit close to home. Wished my parents thought about this... because theyre still so so so unhappily married. They've always talked about divorce but never did it. It was absolutely traumatising for my sister and I growing up..

Bless, I have had similar experience. Looking back would you want small kids to experience the parents together, but then as the kids have grown up it is better if the parents were apart?
@lilacblooms2 жыл бұрын
@@Travis_22 Apart. If I were in that position, I wouldn’t want my children to see all the fighting, constant disagreements, unhappiness and overall negative energy. Children should grow up in an environment where it’s wholesome and full of love. Happy home = Happy children. As a child, it was hard because I felt like I had to pick a side. It was pressuring and it made me feel so anxious every day. As I grew older and as things got worse, I developed severe panic disorder and depression.. I’ve been seeing a therapist for a long time now. So yes, I would never want kids to grow up in an environment like that. It does affect their adulthood too.

About the first question: Workplace consent is SO important. If there’s any younger people who are new to relationships, please be sure that you are being SAFE and following HR guidelines if you are dating a supervisor. Loved this video!❤

I think the message here in all of this is 'Just be yourself and follow your heart' .... ❤
@KorKorShops2 жыл бұрын
I have to say, for the first question about dating your supervisor I think it really depends on the job. In my field you can’t even gift anything to someone who is your superior, yet alone date them. I’d say if you are beginning a career not necessarily an odd job I would not do it. I am an environmental engineer and I love my job, but having that separation of my work and personal life is a must for me.
@gauriyardi63402 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with this. If this is the first step in you career, cut it off. If it's a casual job that you don't really care about - then go for it.

24:14 I respect Zoe for saying that so much because it's something that a lot of us think of sometimes, either it is in the present or about the future. It's just so normal to think of these things and it definitely is not selfish, it just shows how much we care about our relationships. Overall, this video was so comforting, I felt like I was chatting with friends
@abbytait36632 жыл бұрын
Just to say... i loved the friendship question! It's SO normal for friendships to ebb and flow as people go through life changes. My friendships changed when they had babies and we saw each other less; but the same can be said when others got new jobs or got married, moved cities or started travelling more. Friends recognize that life changes and things get busy but it's important to always make an effort and prioritize your friendships when you can and have the capacity to do so! Also, friends with kids... keep checking in on your friends without kids!!

On the making new friends, one my sister told me about this idea where each person in your friend group brings somebody to a dinner party that nobody else really knows. So that everybody is still comfortable with one person but then you get to know new people too. I think that would be a really fun idea and might try it out in the near future. 😊

To the 6:05 question. I would also like to add that maybe the person could communicate with their partner. I don't know the ins & out of the relationship circumstances and what led them to feel the way they do but maybe talking about it might be a good way to resolve it, even if it ends up in a break up. Communication is one of the number 1 things that is very important and talking about it will help you both understand the relationship more. I don't want to assume anything about your relationship but I really hope this has helped and wish you get the best outcome for both of you. ♥️

My parents hated each other for as long as I can remember. Don’t even remember them sleeping in same bed. They didn’t get divorced until I was 18 though as they were “staying together for the kids”. I can tell you watching my parents hate each other and hear the constant name calling and arguing did way more damage to my mental health than if they just divorced as soon as they knew it wasn’t working. They both grew up without fathers so I know they meant well but in hindsight I’d have rather them be divorced. So Zoe hit the nail right on the head with that one.

For questions 1 & 2 I lived both first hand, my supervisor, who was still married told me he was interested in me, I was interested too. So I told him I couldn’t deal with a power relationship and external partners, so quit the job (and left the country because I moved for work) and told him we wouldn’t see each other until he fixed things. Seems like a crazy thing to do, but keeping your integrity is more important than liking someone. Months later we called and he fixed everything and it feels so good to do the right thing, life is really generous when you act with dignity.

Adding to the university talk, I took my sisters advice when I went to uni and it was to keep your door open. Meaning just that, keep your door open, if you’re in just open up your door and you’ll get talking to people, as it shows you’re social even if you don’t feel it at times. Freshers week is the one! Get yourself out, it’s daunting but I promise you, after that first day, you’ll just find your people, or they will find you. Join clubs, and if you’re living in a house with people, go out for food and drinks the day you all meet. It starts the bond. Good Luck to anyone going to uni, truly the best years of my life!
