In India chocos is a pricey breakfast option, 15 rupees per serving including the milk, it makes sense they did not provide chocos for breakfast at the orphanage. Bless her, she probably saw the commercials for chocos at the orphanage and finally had them at the hotel, that makes me feel so warm and happy for her 😊

More so in India the focus is on fresh food than processed stuff. Price is secondary. What I have seen at breakfast time are freshly made parathas, idli, dosa, upma & so many other varieties... I forget the names. Unlike the US where breakfast is often cereals from a box.

It is a tough life in an orphanage. It's a blessing she is with you guys and now a wonderful family❤️ it is actually so beautiful to see that she likes there with u all more than where she was born. Cadie could only speak hindi... Teaching her a new language without having a common language to explain her or translate into is a really difficult job...this is truely amazing. You guys worked so hard for this. 🤗

A little correction...Cadie only knew Bengali ( the language of the state where she was growing up). India has nearly 30 regional languages but the national language is Hindi although not everyone understands or speaks it.

Look into getting her riding lessons. Lots of barns around Orlando. Look into Pony Club activities. She doesn’t have to own her own although if u can afford it after all these kids why not? 😂 go cady! From another horse girl!

We want to adopt internationally but are not sure about the language gap. Do you have English tutors? Can a child go to in class school? Is there homeschool programs you recommend?

We never used a tutor or found it necessary. Most social workers will tell you not to consider that your first option, but instead a second or third option if your child struggles to learn English. Most kids soak English up like a sponge and are eager to learn, because communication=connection. We homeschooled for the first year our daughter was home, which allowed her to learn by immersion. Public school will also accept the child if you choose to go that route. Our school district has a program called ESOL, which helps children learn English when it is their second language. Our daughter came home at 7, and we just started her off with Abeka’s kindergarten curriculum, which took her 3 months to complete. Then she completed first grade in 5 months. Now she is caught up to the second grade and is about to begin public school, with enough English under her belt to fully converse with her teacher. Hope this helps!
