As a person who lives in Jacksonville, I cannot believe that one of our notable landmarks have been demolished. Now it just feels like a burning memory now :(. Even though its very rare to happen, I hope there's going to be a new one somewhere in Downtown just for me to relive my memories.

I missed the landing!! I miss the colored water fountains and everyone having fun watching the fireworks. And the toy store, the gumball machine, etc etc

Do you have any info on the upn47 tv show "Pointman" filmed in Jax 1994 and 1995. I've got all the episodes on DVD, but most are not in English. Scenes were filmed at the Landing loading docks and the springs on the River side of the Landing. It's so awesome to see the long gone places used in the show. While most things haven't changed much

I can’t believe “they” are willing to take this place away permanently & forever...its iconic number 1 & number 2 the architecture is SO well planned/genius/aesthetic!!!! I sure hope the original plans still exist so people like myself who are so devastated to see it go can remember every little detail... We are Jacksonville natives & I am originally from the beaches. I know at this point they have removed a lot of things from the inside & it’s somewhat of a shell now...At this point & as a remarkably awesome project, the Landing should be taken apart & moved to the beaches as a great big beautiful pier!! With maybe 2 boardwalks built out into the ocean. The iconic curve would float over the ocean & the entrance to the Jacksonville Beach Landing would be the current north bank river view...get it? They are about to pour millions into renovating or rebuilding (??) the pier!!! This is the perfect time to take action!!!!! Before it’s too late!!

We need more green space downtown. I say bulldoze all those eyesores from the 1960s through the 1980s and replace them with parks.

I disagree. We've already "bulldozed" too much of Jacksonville's history. Besides if more green space is created it just becomes a haven for homeless people to move in and create a tent city keeping others from enjoying the area.

I agree. It's like Miami tearing down Bayside with just having Bayfront park. I have been to Jax Landing it was pretty awesome. It's crazy how they couldn't at remodel it especially with lack of retail downtown. Parks with more homeless encampment will just scare away more visitors.
