I think a lot about how I'm not sure I'll ever watch or read anything again that dethrones One Piece as my favourite series. It changed my life, too. It's been such a source of joy where I've needed one.

One Piece has made me cry SO... MANY... TIMES its kinda ridiculous. And also laugh. Sometimes im laughing and crying at the same time. Its like a rollercoaster but instead of 5 minutes it lasts for years :)

if i may suggest, don't watch the live action until you finish the water7/ennies lobby arc as it (live action) will spoil one of the great reveals in the anime/manga..as for the amount of episodes, believe me, once you catched up, you'll wish for a thousand more chapters/episodes..

I don’t know, I’ve seen a couple people who saw the live action first and have now reached the water 7 arc and were not disappointed. There’s a lot more than just that one reveal that happens in post Enies Lobby if you recall. I think it’s really up to them. It might be nice to compare the LA when it’s still fresh in the mind. Let them do what they want

@@Tapiteka honestly why don't you spend money on hachi who is important in the story and spend on unnecessary reveal rn ? An vice admiral coming to capture a pirate crew which is declared war against world govt is more realistic. that's what makes that reveal great. He is grandson of him, he is son of him reveal should be revealed after that grandson declared war against the world govt.

@@AyyanarLost Because with limited time, its better to focus on fewer characters to make tighter story arcs. Its still a fine reveal and it makes Kobys arc make a lot more sense a lot sooner. Hachi can introduced when he becomes relevant, and then each season will make more sense to new viewers. They didn't make these changes for no reason ... and the reveal is still meaningful to people... its just different from how you personally remember it

Initially, the reason i got into One Piece was because Luffy is such a straightforward and funny guy, and cute at times, i like that about him. I intend to watch this for the laughs. Later on, I never thought this show would make me cry so ugly lmao 😆 Can i ask? if you guys finally finish the Live action, will you guys be continuing to the next arc of the anime?

I agree Luffy is very funny! I appreciate his personality so far. I keep hearing that the majority also have ugly cried watching this show. If you saw our AOT movie reaction and how much I cried during that ... I can't even imagine what I'll look like for this show 😂. As for your question about us continuing after the Live action - that's currently the plan! If we decide to change directions in the future, we'll absolutely let you all know. But for now, we intend to sail the entirety of this adventure!

Please continue to offer your theories as you go!! One of the greatest parts of being in the One Piece community is theorizing after we get a new chapter and it’s always great to see someone’s raw thoughts on their first watch and compare it to what we (the community) were thinking and speculating back then. This early on the complexity of the world doesn’t show its teeth as much, but Oda is ALWAYS dropping breadcrumbs :)

Having this fun, you are in for a 1000 treat! Luffy not worrying because he's strong is a good perspective for his free spirit behaviour. He can simply take it and could make you think: how strong are you? Good Luffy ideas but can' tell: insert Luffy laugh. And the stretch reaction is fine.

Spoilers!!! I dont think the "spoiler" would ruin anything for watchers. If anything the additional context helps you relate to Luffy more much sooner. Its important for Netflix to get you to be interested in the story in only a few episodes .... I think that both strategies work well for their medium, and neither ruins the other. I do however agree that the show is best experienced through the manga/anime first however

Captain Morgan very relatable in our society sometimes we encountered a police officer who corrupt and abused the power and have a son and coz of his dad power he abused it also ..this the reason why one piece is best all of situations in one piece are very realistic

here we go! thejourney begins!! believe me once you start, you will not stop! but as i said some spoiler twists are like jumping infrom 300+ ep of anime in LA 8 episode. so its ok to continue watching it, LA has its own image and anime has it too. so you will enjoy both, so for me who already is on 1000+ can assure you that you wont regret watching untill 315 or 320 eps before LA. hope ppl here wont mind what im trying to say.

I had never watched an anime nor did I know the live action was based on the anime / manga until after watching the first episode. I am now caught up on the over 1000 episodes of the anime, as I love this world Oda has created.

I love these first two episodes of One Piece, cause it truly sets the mood for the entire rest of the show which is "don't judge a book by its cover". In the first episode, we meet a pirate woman who's absolutely awful, but our main protagonist also wants to be a pirate. But he's our main protag, so despite wanting to be a pirate like the awful woman, he's not a bad guy, obviously. Not to mention we meet a guy who's talking about the navy that captures pirates and how he wants to be one of them. Which gives the audience the illusion of, "Oh, so the navy must be good guys then". Then we go to the second episode where we meet Morgan who is also just a horrible terrible person despite being a marine, whom we believed to be good guys from the previous episode. Then there's Zoro's whole deal where Coby insists he must be a bad guy cause he's caught, when it's really just a corrupt system that has him caught. Best part is, the rest of the series follows a similar formula, where you can't judge a book by its cover. Somehow it even makes you symphatize with the antagonists, even if you don't condone their actions. 😂 All that to say, I absolutely love One Piece, it has a killer start to a killer story. ❤

It's funny you say that this show will have us sympathizing with antagonists lol. I tried to give Captain Morgan's son the benefit of the doubt and figured he had crappy parents, which turns out his dad sucks. Then it got me wondering about Captain Morgan and his background. I also find myself thinking Captain Buggy is SO annoying 😂😂😂 (we just finished episode 5&6) but I'm sure I will have a different perspective eventually when we get more into the story. Ultimately, your sentiment on "don't judge a book by it's cover" is the perfect take and what I'm trying to take into account as we watch the show. Though this is REALLY hard after watching the episode with the dog LOL

Actually, if you're gonna start with the anime, wait till episode 300 or so (the end of the post- enies lobby saga to be precise) if you wanna go into the LA completely spoiler free. Otherwise, you will be subject to a major reveal. Us who are caught up are very far ahead so we digested this difference fairly well, but I can only imagine the impact of that info on someone who is on like episode 100 or less. It's not a deal-breaker but it will leave you confused as all hell.

New ones ^^ on first hand welcome to the best storywriting and biggest emotional rollercoaster you will ever encounter in your life :) on second had some important things. 1. Don't skip anything, because even the fillers are very goog ngl :) [even if some young ones that watch since just 5 years or less recommend that, just DON't do that, because they mostly have no idea of it x) , so better listen to the long timers, like me :D (15 years btw) ] 2. I'm really happy that you also give the Anime a try next to the Manga, because the Anime makes you feel it even more with all sounds, muscis , pictures, and so on (I mean the Manga alone is fire too, but still the Anime hits even more ^^') 3. the graphics are just old school for now :P 4. the liveaction is also very good, but it just can't compare to the Anime at all ^^ 5. Enjoy the Journey on screen together :D
