I agree with you 100%. If a kid wants a phone that has all the garbage on it, I will tell him to get a job because I am not paying for it. My mom always said if you want something get a job to pay for it because i won't! My phone is just that a phone. I have a computer at home for all those apps. I also don't answer any numbers that don't have an id. If it is important leave a voice mail. Other wise to me it is a SCAM!

Parents also need to parent. STOP being friends with their kids. Parents are parents, not friends of their kids. Kids will make their own friends through the years. Discipline kids and STOP being afraid to tell them NO. TOO MANY parents are afraid of their own children. THOSE THINGS are in large part, the BIG issues. IT STARTS FROM THE HOME.

I totally agree-let the kids be kids-they get into to dark world way to quickly as it is. I've "harped" for years that our grandkids are too young for phones, then the parents wonder why they are on the phone so much!! Small wonder when they see their own parents on a lot!! Yup I would have liked to use a paddle when I'd hear the next kid was getting a phone-noooooooo!!! And as you said, yes you can get "safe" apps, but our grands quickly found ways around them. One as using a devotional app and discovered a way to get on KZbin from there! You just can't be too over cautious. Very good today-please keep getting the word out-I support you 100% on this!!

I loved hearing about that phone. What a great way to introduce kids to being responsible while ensuring their safety. Unfortunately over the years cell phones have become many families portable tv babysitters and I’ve seen parents in stores battling their kids to get their phones from them at check outs because their cards are on their phones and the kids aren’t willing to halt their viewing. 😂🤣. You two both look great since starting the healthy food eating, you look younger and more energized. I’m sure it allowed your body to shed all the not so good additives that is in the everyday foods that stays in our bodies. Kudo’s to you both! Love your videos and they are such a joy to view. ❤❤

When my youngest son was in high school, a few of his teachers would stand at the door with a shoebox for everyone’s cell phone. If a cell phone went off, that wasn’t in the box, parent needed to pick it up in front office. If it when off in box she would give back at the of the school day. Also, my kiddos got a phone to communicate with us as parents, if my kiddos didn’t answer our phone calls or text, they lost it for a day or two. Christian schools are the best! I think, every penny spent has paid off, plus with the crazy amount of parent service hours allows parent to know and observe your kiddos friends.

Sometimes I wonder why they can't find something non electric to look at like a book . Sometimes today parents don't want to enter act with them just let the enternet teach them that's why kids are out of control. I can remember that leading up to the housing bubble, in the middle to late 2000-otts, there was a growing sentiment among folks that not providing kindergarteners with a phone was bordering on neglect. - Im not sure what i would do as a parent today. Heavens we came across a barely functioning, actual pay phone in a near by town and when the 1st grader comes back into town, the plan is to try to squeeze some time to go see it; he may never see another one. My imagination of the ideal would surely love to see my K-3, or 5th grader if they are in a single classroom most of the day, put their phone on the teacher's desk when they enter the classroom; not sure i would want to be responsible for kids' cell phones when getting the right hat and coat home with the right kid hasnt changed in probably 100 years.

When you look at the nutritional differences between sour cream and mayo, sour cream stacks up pretty well if not better. For extra goodness and 1/2 cup servings, puree cottage cheese in a food processor (blender works but is a little more work) using milk as needed then use it as a mayo and sour cream substitute. This is great if you like to douse your salad in dressing or the vegetables/ chips are an excuse for an adequate amount of dip. Potato salad made this way is great. Also, look at the nutritional label on cream cheese. It is a fat and not a cheese.

Hello Cassie and Gary just wanted to let you know that I struggle with this too sometimes recently I lost my best buddy in October 5, 2023 and when he ended up passing away, I went into a deep depression and I ended up in the hospital and I ended up dying three times and when I came back to third time The doctor asked if I knew what was going on and I told him that I had no clue what had happened and he told me that from putting down my best friend and my little body that I went into a deep depression and I was putting on fluid so fast I went from 334 pounds and my was 8.9 and I kept going in and out of consciousness and also having bipolar disease and PTSD and anxiety in depression and ADHD and autism dyslexia is not a fun ride. I struggle a lot with certain things and some days. I just feel likeI’m a, I am in a box of rocks and I’m just in that box and I’m crumbling and there’s just no way out, but I know that that’s not true that God‘s always going to help me get through no matter how broke I am someday I can be smooth and other days I can be hard. I just never know from day and day out, but I have come along way and I’m doing much better and has been hard giving up a lot of junk food and the sugar andEverything And now my health is doing really well. I went from 334 pounds down to 297 and my A-1 is back down to 6.1 and I’m doing amazing but it’s just been so hard because I live alone and I don’t have my service animal with me anymore. Stormy is in heaven now and he’s taking care of the garden for Jesus and making sure the angels have wonderful fruits and vegetables in that garden mice and snakes out of the garden so none of the little angels get hurt while they’re picking the fruits and the vegetables out of the garden, but I know that I feel much better. I’ve come along since October 5, 2023, but I’m gonna be honest with you. It has not been really easy for me to do this and now my cholesterol is through the roof, but I am not giving up my meat. I told my doctor this And she said I didn’t have to give it up, but I had to back off some things and it’s not easy trying to do what you gotta do best stay healthy and I feel amazing and I’m new medication for my bipolar disease and my anxiety and my depression And ADHD don’t like medicine neither sometimes God makes that medication so we can feel better and move forward and get through the next door that he has planned for us and I’m doing incredible things right now. I’m doing a lot for my church here in OSWEGO, we’re getting ready to have our big huge festival soon and I’ve been selling raffle tickets For the festival and so far this year I’ve made over $615 to help out with that festival for our church and I’ve been on member now at St. Mary’s Church here in OSWEGO for almost 21 years so I just want to tell you that I know how hard it is and Cassie you can do this. You just gotta have wisdom and strength That whatever you are doing you’re doing it because God is helping you to stay on track so you can do the right thing for your body and your soul and keeping your spirit strong and well-maintained sense to you so I hope you both are doing well. I’m glad to see the kids are doing amazing and I’m I can’t wait for the day when we get to actually meet little bear my little bear because I’m part Indian German and Italian and my great great grandfather bear when I was little and I feel like I’m a baby cub sometimes I just have nobody to me and help me to pull through and do the good things that I need to do to keep moving forward and staying healthy so take care and may God bless you both and your family and I hopethat Thethe Weather there stay safe in the temperatures don’t get so hot and so humid and I hope and pray that you don’t have any severe storms and that everything works out for the way it supposed to work out. We just need to stay focused on what Jesus has planned for us and moving forward to the next step in our lives, so I wish you both the best. I wish you and your family the greatest days and nights to come in your lives and I hope and pray that you have a wonderful summer and that you get to go on some more trips and some more states so take care and know that somebody here in OSWEGO, New York is praying and thinking of all of you and helping and praying That you’re staying your family yourselves into your crops and your animals that you’ll never ever fall off track because when we fall off track it’s hard to get back on, but we gotta always remember. The Jesus is always there to help us to stay on the right path and Follow him to wherever he takes his and our next journey of our life. Amen. So may God bless you all take care and have a great summer and Cassie you’re doing a wonderful job Gary you are too so keep up the good work guys you’re both doing amazing and your kids are doing awesome, so take care and God bless from one of your friends here and Oswego, New York from Denise-7-12-2024-❤✝️❤️✝️❤️✝️❤️✝️❤️✝️❤️

Gary, this is not important but just wanted to say, I'm well into my 80's and we had to tell the operator who we wanted to call when I was about 3 yrs old, but only for a short time..for that year we were able to dial the number ourselves and it was a "private" line. Any call out side our town, was " long distance" and cost us to call it. Of course our phones had the dial, and you reached the operator that was a human at the phone company switch board.

My daughter still can track them where they go. Teens these days a more immature. They have been given everything, so they become very entitled. I can this, because I see it all the time. Trust me, without meat, this diet is tough. ❤ Anyway, just want to add (topic touched on it) that powdered milk works great in coffee, keeps as well as non dairy creamer but tastes so much better. Plus, none of the chemicals that creamer is made from (it's not dairy?) This is my only milk other than that I use almond milk. Doesn't require any mixing prior to use, just like the non dairy stuff. Makes me wonder why we came up with the chemical version. ❤😂 relapses are fine, just go at it again tomorrow

My daughter had tracker phone on her kids through high school and part of their college years. They knew that mom was watching them all the time and they could call home if needed. My grandson is 25 now and still has an old flip top, he could have a later model he said this is all I need.

A great thing to have for kids! My friend's daughter has had to go to virtual learning because of bullying in her school. It is so sad.

Great idea. Too many kids and adults! Are glued to their phones, missing out on life going on around them. Social skills are suffering.

Having a good summer homestead all well garden is thriving . Animals are well Went out on the lake on my kayak with my dog and had a great time. I remember senior year in high school 1997 I had my first beeper. Then it went to basic cell phone no tax no camera those were the days. I totally agree that young children or (child) should not have cell phones .If I had children of my own they would not have a cell phone. I am old school for cell phone emergency only when I started driving could call road assistance. So glad that schools are cracking down on cell phone and kids I think it's great idea. Yes lock the cell phones up during school hours I can't imagine how distracting it is being a teacher and trying to do her job teaching having kids on their cell phones that's just plain disrespectful. Some jobs your not allowed to have your cell phone on you while working. Only allowed to have it on your breaks and lunch in the break room or outside. And if you're caught with your phone on the work floor get written up...ect Employees used to sneak using their cell phone in the bathroom... And still got in trouble for it because technically on the clock and is considered still on the work floor not during your break or lunch. They even install the cameras right before the entrance of bathroom door so security could see who's going in and out and how long it's taking the employee .Employees also go into the bathroom and hide things under their clothes that they stole in the warehouse. They got caught and they got fired. What a crazy world we live in.. All you can do is pray 🙏 ❤️

Good morning Gary and Cassie- totally agree with everything in this chat. I’ve not done the 30 day thing that you guys are doing but I have gotten rid of the pop /soda and carbonation drinks and most of the processed foods out of my diet, feeling pretty good I will say. It’s been a year and 7 months eating this way. Have a good day 👍

I am so glad my kids grew up without the social media and phones. My oldest is going to be 38 this October, he had his first phone at around 18. My youngest got his at 13 and it wasn’t a smart phone, because they didn’t exist yet. My granddaughter is almost 4 and thankfully, my son and daughter-in-law do not let her have any of that crap (my son is a teacher) she has a kindle and an iPad (both hand me downs) but they have all the controls on them and she is on a timer. No social media!
