thank you for making it sound so..manageable. I always feel like I have to be a perfect homeschool mom. A super mom honestly. I got really good at guilting and shaming myself for not doing everything the way I planned or the way I think other moms do it. sometimes I'm so hard on myself that I just don't do it for fear of being a failure. it's comforting to see that many of us feel this way and im not alone.

I am so glad I found you. Since you are in New Zealand, you are about 6 months ahead of me since I am in the states, which has been very helpful! I have a 5 yo girl, 4 yo twin boys and an 18 mo boy, so my house is very much like yours. Thank you for being real and sharing what has worked and not worked.

My kids are the same age as yours pretty much (5,3.5,16 months) and our schedule is super simular to yours. Three weeks in and I'm loving it ! (I knownthis is from 3 years ago)

This was everything I needed to hear. I am new to Homeschooling and because of Covid I am homeschooling my Kinder boy. It has been such a challenge but I will definitely take your advice on interest learning and shorter time spans of school time. Keep up the good work momma!

Thank you for being realistic! I always watch these videos about homeschooling, and it’s like it could only happen in a dream world. I just always think that these people must be paying someone to clean and cook for them. My kids are all very reluctant learners when it’s forced, so I’m leaning more towards an “unschooling” approach but I feel like we all need somewhat of a schedule. Thank you!

Thank you for this! I stopped by to get a refresher for kindergarten. I have a home school graduate and I'm starting again with my youngest. I've home schooled for 12 years and I would offer the same advice that you did. So you are far ahead of the curve!

I recently made a video about how we are living the homeschool with REALLY little kids life right now, too! :) I don't think I knew that you were homeschooled yourself! I am a 2nd gen homeschooler, too! Naptime is one of my KEY strategies for school right now, too. My toddler still takes an afternoon nap and my baby takes morning and afternoon naps. Thanks for sharing your strategies, it's nice to hear from another mom who is in this similar stage of having really little ones!

I have a family member that did homeschool that’s telling me that I’m not doing enough. He just turned 4 in November and we have been doing about 15 minutes. I’ll probably increase it a little bit more here soon. He’s learning his letters though. He’s able to recognize roughly 10 letter. Count to ten (working on that to be higher though). What are your opinions on that? I do live in a state where he’s going to have to do standardized testing so take that into account!

School with my 4-year old currently takes us about 15-20 minutes four times a week. You're doing plenty. :)
