I hope Muslims can properly and sincerely follow Islam without compromising what our creator has ordered of us. Instead they should have just shook hands. We cannot follow the culture or norms of anyone when it goes against what is permitted in our religion.

I agree with you, I am a muslim myself, IT IS forbidden not to bow (sujood, which is done in prayer) to anyone except Allah. However, in this case, they're bowing out of respect to one another. This is a cultural thing. Additionally, their intention matters. They didn't bow to worship or anything. So, like I mentioned earlier Koreans bow to each other as a form of respect. We also have to respect Korean's culture, so please don't cause a controversy. 😊

There is a hadith where the sahaba wanted to bow to the prophet, peace be upon him, but he said they cannot. Even if its culture, or towards elders, not worshipping, it is not permitted in islam.

I know we need to fully respect our parents, and I mean really respect them because your parents have done soo much for you, and the rights that they have upon you is tremendous, but you should NEVER Bow to them. All worship, bowing, prostration is due to Allah and Allah Subahaana Watacaala alone. Honor them, but don't worship your parents. Advice to me first hand.
