Lambing is in full swing. I wake up, forget what day it is, blink and it's lunchtime. We are already half done this group of ewes and it's only day 3. Coffee me.

its August 2, 2022 and I am back pedaling your videos. Started watching end of 2018. To me this is the prequel. Love seeing this early into your farming sheep. I am a non farmer of any type. Fastinating, entertaining, most of all educational. Thank you Sandi

Hi Sandi, love watching your earliest videos, it shows me how much you’ve adjusted and improved your style over the years. One thing never changes, and that’s you, thank goodness! O word to more videos!❤️❤️👍👍🐑🐑

I have been here since the end of 2019 something. And since I am am in bed with a bad bout of flu I thought: lets see what was there in the beginning. 😊 And there was our beloved Sandi tending lovingly to her beloved sheep. So youtube-innocent but as thorough in her care as ever. The structured approach we see today is all because of these humble beginnings! Lovely to see what changes and progress a person can make! Lots of love from germany.❤

great vid as always, super looking sheep. Watching this vid I just noticed how long your legs are hahaha! Some of your fellow shepherds watching this who may be on the ....squatter side of the tall scale.. must be watching you step over dividers with a sigh of jealousy !

LOL! And yet... I've managed to rip the crotch out of EVERY pair of pants and coveralls I own from stepping over those dividers!

Omg ... this channel is awesome! You have it down to a science! I absolutely love how you are so dedicated to their well-being. True Animal Husbandry! Tubing in cold - smtms giving milk supplement at heated temps helps push them along. I know it appears that there’s a milk supply and tubes running - is this milk hot?!? Hopefully so! THANK YOU for sharing!

HEY SANDI: You asked where you got the name 'Jugs' to label the lambing pens. 'Jugs' is also a term used for Jail, at least amongst some of the street people in America. If you're caught drinking publicly, the cops will come and throw you in the Jug, etc. Your video's are awesome!

I just seen your KZbin and I really love it I'm a farmer and I had Saint Troy sheep17 years ago. I'm a hay farmer and I'm looking to raise sheep to get rid of my hay what is the best kind of hay that you feed your sheep and Lambs. I seen where you had big bales of straw and I bail in that large 3 by 3 by 8 Bale. What do you think about feeding high quality Dairy Alfalfa to sheep. Losing Dairy Farmers.
@SandiBrock5 жыл бұрын
I feed the sheep pretty high quality alfalfa as it helps decrease my feed costs (especially the lactating and flush rations)... The dry ewes can get away with your lower quality hay.

what kind of food have been given to the sheeps in snow season to make the healthy sheep
@SandiBrock6 жыл бұрын
The diet is still the same... haylage (peas & oats currently), corn silage, dry corn and mineral. But in real cold temps, I typically boost the amount fed by 5-10%.

What are the dimensions of your barn? Would be interested in hearing anything you might change about your setup.
@SandiBrock6 жыл бұрын
Dimensions of the barn are 80' wide by 252' long. There's always things I think we would change after a build... But in this case, I designed my management system around the barn. I think if I could have added a spot for the bottle lambs, that would have been good. But we've made it work. I may do another video on barn layout... that seems to be what many want to know more about!
