Also, there is some lore that is still missing, the pyro gemstone hidden name wasn't revealed, dainsleif hinted that mavuika would reveal a huge secret to us, something that didn't happened. And capitano being a Khaenri'ahn could be the perfect person so talk to us about there or even guide us to there. Not only that, his story quest could reveal things that we don't know about Khaenriah. A thing that apparently everyone forgot is the fact that, if Thrain was a legendary hero of natlan, why then he joined the fatui? Why he is a fatui harbinger if he adopted natlan as his new home? There is a lot of questions and all of them in a way or another either revolve around him of may reach him, natlan isn't just finished yet

As much as I honor Capitano’s sacrifice. I think Hoyoverse did a terrible job depicting his backstory. He only has little screen time on the Archon Quest and his backstory is too rushed. Like he suddenly have to die without almost any proper build up. I literally thought Capitano would be joining Traveler and Mavuika on the final battle as shown on the 5.3 poster. But half of it is like having a feast or celebrating without him. Then the final battle only last for 1 hour and seems way too easy.

@@JOSHUAj519 exactly he was hinted by Mika in an event where we got information about varka and his expedition meeting capitano and since then he was allways stated as the fatui number 1, the embodiment of strengh. In 5.0 we finnaly got to see him after all the hype that was build up just to see him playing a siderole in this war and seeing his end allready in 5.3 without having much interaction with him, neither a big fight with him. Arlecchino warned us about him and his strengh and now we just see him end in 3 patches without seeing much of his power 😅 Not to talk about...that genshin need a charackter like him an embodiment of strengh, male charackter are rare allready and characters with a darker theme and story are rare aswell. I hope he still gets somehow playable but I fear he will not.

@@Sinvallis Yes, very true. Even if they want to kill Capitano off that soon, they should at least give us Aventurine’s level of storytelling on HSR’s 2.1 main quest. Aventurine was also introduced for 2 patches only(back on 2.1, he was already playable), yet he had almost an entire main quest to tell his story. His backstory is so good that his sacrifice is convincing enough to make players cry.

And to back up the sticker comment, no sticker of even NPC's has a dead character, even Ahzdaha was not killed cuz we sealed him back up, so Capitano can’t be dead forever. EDIT: Thank you for all the likes, i didn't know that so many people could agree with me :)

(Cuz then Ronova would get in trouble with the heavenly principles) Wouldn't he take on a new life because when the soul goes under reincarnation, so does the body. (and i don't mean his letteral "body," just a body that someone would "live in") We know that life goes under reincarnation in Tayvat so long as the "whoever" does not have the curs of immortality. @panickingacrobat7138 as I said, his Body remains immortal while his soul will now go under reincarnation. His soul along with his comrades was sent to the laylines for reincarnations. The only punishment Renovo bestowed was to make their body an immortal vessel for their souls. Their body wasn't a cage, so as long as they somehow managed to seperate soul from body they can pass on.

It’s very weird for him to die after teasing a face reveal to the Traveler and Paimon, without ever letting the audience see his face. That on top of a few other things that other people have been saying: 1) the leaked data files of his e skill and playable model 2) the fact that there are 17 playable characters for each version so far (besides version 1), and the current 9 plus the 7 that were teased in the 5.3 livestream only makes 16, leaving one suspiciously absent 3) his emote sticker, despite all of the stickers so far in game being either enemies or playable characters, and he never got a boss fight so he isn’t the former So yeah, I think he will return, the question is how. Do I think that his return would likely undermine his character arc? Yes, yes I do. But is it better than him never being playable? In my book, absolutely! (I am selfish lmao) The Cope-itano will never die!!

Also, he is currently sitting a frozen throne. The description says that Capitano has *frozen* ice and death. At that throne, we offer blazing flint. What does flint do? Start fires. What do fires do? Melt. We currently have 5/6 blazing flint ore, and I think it's very intentional that we wont offer fire to the frozen throne for a short while.

There are a lot of theories circulating, especially on the Capitano Mains subreddit. Capitano’s constellation looks like the 3 swords in the quest, but also the 3 Nails of Jesus’ resurrection. 3 days after Jesus’ crucifixion, he resurrected, so we assume that in 3 patches, the Captain will also resurrect. There’s the files saying there’s both an NCP model of him and a playable avatar model. Why would the devs make 2 models of the same character if he wasn’t playable? That would be a waste of time, resources, and money. His sword isn’t only a Skillobject, it has a name ‘Antumbra’. Why would they name his sword? Also there’s the very obvious reference to Arthas the Lich King from World of Warcraft. The pose with the sword and the ice freezing Capitano is just like the Lich King trailer. Both characters are noble and righteous leaders of an army, are undead in some shape or form, have the glowing blue eyes. Arthas was brought back… Even in the narrative, Capitano says that “Left unresolved, that paradox could uproot the natural order of this world… Even you, great Ruler of Death, lack the capacity to bear the consequences of that outcome.” The paradox that is Schrödinger’s Capitano could literally warp Teyvat. Ronova cannot just leave the paradox unresolved due to potential dangerous consequences, so Capitano’s story is at the very least still relevant. Sorry for the kinda long crazed rant, but it genuinely baffles me that there aren’t more videos talking about this stuff. It’s like everyone just accepted him as dead, the “leakers”, the content creators, the players. Our beloved Captain is still alive, I believe in him.

I hope they bring him back, dude is such a cool concept with a lot of lore and story potential, not to mention that having a human up there in strength makes it more interesting than just gods being the strongest. But I'm also disappointed in how he was handled in the archon quests. Such a badass entry, perfectly set up to be an actual player and threat in the storyline, just to basically be sidelined the entire time. They completely negated any worry about his character with him supposedly having an injury, despite it only being mentioned once and never touched on again afterwards. He doesn't want to fight the traveler because they are the sibling to the abyssal queen that he's now actively fighting against (She may have been his queen once upon a time, but now Capitano is fighting the abyss, and she's in charge of it). We show up and just immediately talk him out of doing whatever he wants to. He appears for like 5 seconds to save Xilonen in the war, which you'd think he'd have a much bigger role in being as strong as Mavuika. Then vanishes for the entirety of the quest, just to show up and die so we can keep the character we already spent the entire quest hanging out with. Might've been nice to have him there helping us against Gosoythoth in the abyss, have a reason to have more power instead of the power of friendship and 'I believe in you', or get to spend time with a character the community has been excited to get for years now before ending their story. He had a good reason to, and a flashy cutscene for it, but it all just feels like adding a reason to kill him off just so they could keep Mavuika and throw consequence to the wind

The fact that he’s stuck in a paradox between life and death, such a easy cop out for Hoyo deciding to make him return. They could’ve just made him have a more permanent death like with Signora who literally got turned to ashes on the floor of Ei’s palace Also the fact that the Tsaritsa decided to keep him in the 1st rank/position unlike other dead Harbingers whose seats became vacant or replaced by someone else. Capitano did what he did for 3 reasons: 1. He keeps the Night Kingdom Existing which leads to the 2. He gave his immortality to Lord of the Night becoming so they could keep the Night Kingdom safe from corruption. 3. He made Ode of Resurrection possible to be used after war since Ronova can't undo anything about the deal anymore with the Paradox. People tend to call him Lich King, but actually his Body is the Phylactery for the Actual Lich who's the Lord of the Night Kingdom. His Body can't die, not soul nor mind, but in Teyvats rules your soul can't just leave your body for no reason or your own will. His Soul fused with the Night Lord so now HE is the Night Lord(too) and thus makes him too important to leave. Tho we got his Friends Projection helping us in AQ saying that he isn't the real man, but a copy based on Beliefs. So that must mean that there must be an actual Thrain, prime Capitano. But I must say his size is based on Lore, he is Cyborg, so they can't just forget that. We can Cope that just like Xbalanque Capitano might cheat his way back, BUT Xbalanque was allowed since Ronova bet with him(lol she's not so far from us humans huh). And Maybe he just needs to leave the Body behind, but return in his classic way. I also like how Devs actually heard players and made him Tan and not Pale White or whatever.

Capitanos "Death" explanation - his soul is in the night kingdom, and his body is at the throne of primal fire - regarding his immortality curse. His body is just gonna stay on the throne for eternity. Since his body can't die, there's no reason for any future character to give their life to keep the night kingdom (or whatever it's called) running. - in summary, his soul has left his body, and his body is basically a husk. If you played "hi3" it's basically the state Hua was in that let the herrscher of sentience be born.

Real reason he might come back: its a gacha game. we're playing the lowest tier of goyslop available on the gaming market, they can ass pull whatever reason they want to bring him back. Hell irminsul is there to retcon anything they want OUT, and the loom of fate is now here so they can retcon anything they want IN, so even if they didn't leave all these backdoors and technicalities for capitano's status, it doesn't actually matter, they can do whatever they want, and the fact that he's gotten more marketing than Arlecchino before her release leads me to believe there's a good, non copium chance they're gonna release him one day if not in natlan.

Im simply putting in objective facts that A. He's not actually Dead (that much is said by the game), and B. They have left themselves enough narrative wiggle room to bullshit him back, they have done so before in their other games, and if a company like bungie isn't above doing this to generate additional revenue (cayde 6), neither is a literal gacha company. We got fromsoft bringing in bosses from dark souls 3 to elden ring to generate hype, it ain't that deep, and there's just too much that is odd with him from in game files to marketing that raises eye brows. So something I think might happen is Doctore. So doctore had an ability to yank himself out of the timeline and make them be present all at once. We saw this in sumeru which Nahida gave away her gnosis for answers and for him to end this ability forever which he got a warning he would regret this. Now Doctore cant use this ability on himself anymore but he might be able to do it on someone else. Now the next thing is Mavuika specifically mentions Capitano got permission to drop the gnosis hunt and so she thinks another Fauti will come for it since hers is the last one they dont have. This is probably how Columbina, spelling?, will come into the picture. But the doctore might follow her to examine what is going on and then use his ability on Capitano pulling out the YOUNGER pre-curse version by accident and that is the one who is our Playable version. This keeps Capitano's end but still allows us to see him and use him.

As much as I want him to be playable, I am still happy for his ending and that he gets to finally rest after 500 years. Hoyo can still make a "dead" character playable but if he is playable, it will likely happen in the far future since 5.x and early-mid 6.x seems unlikely but idc, more time to pull for other characters AND save for my GOAT's eventual return. I will be waiting for that drip marketing, whether its Capitano or Thrain.

Who knows? It was leaked that the Archon Quest VI will include the 6 Nations of Teyvat. So we will return to Natlan. It was never mentioned that he died, but only fused since that curse of immortality is stronger than the ruler of death making him dead. That's why he fused with the lord of the knight so that it can protect the Natlan from the Abyss indefinitely since he's immortal, he's the vest vessel for unlimited supply of life. He is only in a comatose state. Maybe Colombina can do something like summoning dead people or summoning someone from knight kingdom since she's a necromancer, and we'll get to see Capitano or Signora.

Durin ended up being reborn and became a companion to wanderer so what if with LOTN she will be a companion to capitano which she will be able to walk out of teyvat once the leyline heals all the while capitano awakens, would explain the skill obj. 4th nothing in the game has pointed out the weapon name of capitano which is “antumbra” so we know thats a hint. And last I dont think the story is over as the pyro gemstone still has a blank name missing so im sure natlan will still have more story to tell.

I absolutely agree. We can come up with thousands couping reasons but none will redeem the disrespect it would cause for his Sacrifice. He did it not to just Die, he didn't even die. He is just now hanging out in the Valhalla with other souls rebuilding the Night Kingdom and having his rest with friends. The only Reason for our Chad Lich King to Get Up from that Throne is the Project Stuzha. If he had his role in it OR he would want to prevent it he must return in any way possible for him. But that is baseless as well since he'd make sure we'd know about it through some kind of intel or letter left just like he did for Tzaritza and Mavuika warning her that somebody might come for the Gnosis. He probably won't stop Columbina or Dottore from Collecting it(tho Mavuika doesn't need it to use the Ode, Capitano made sure it will exist forever with the Lord of Night that makes that Ode Work too). But if Columbina actually IS a Seele and related to Lord of the Night... In their times they might have some kind of Powers which could change some things, but again that's just Cope she probably won't come neither care for Capitano.

There's some more christian symbolism (credit to u/lumiarisa for finding this). In his cutscene, particularily the part where it returns to the modern day and we see him facing Ronova, he is in a field of yellow flowers and blue butterflies. Blue butterflies represent the resurrection of Christ, sometimes being depicted in his hand in pictures of the Virgin and Child. Daffodils are yellow flowers that look incredibly similar to the flowers in that field, and they symbolize new begginings and rebirth. Easter lillies are also yellow flowers, and they also represent the resurrection of Christ. I don't think it's a coincidence for 2 reasons: -the field of flowers and butteflies he was in doesn't actually exist near the Throne of Primal Flame. It only exists in that cutscene. -Hoyo has done blue butterfly symbolism before. Seele, from Honkai Impact, was constantly associated with blue butterflies. She became the Herrscher of Rebirth.
