Who do you think won the battle? Our Last Night? Or Halocene?

Great reaction, though I noticed at the start you mentioned that both bands started on KZbin, but OLN has been around for 18yrs, Halocene for 14yrs, they both had long careers and a number of album releases before YT. Halocene were the winners IMO, OLN did a great job, but it just doesn't hit the same way.

Definitely Our Last Night, their cover is overall just smoother and flows better in my opinion, but both are good in their own right

It's a draw with a slight lean for Halocene honestly I mean Halocene brought a very in your face metal attack and well they have Addie. Our Last Night probably flowed a little smoother but like you said that up front attack of Halocene is hard to beat. Especially because when you think metal well you think the power that Halocene brought. That being said both are great covers. Also you called Brad, Alex lol. That being said the crowd at a concert does really pop off when Halocene plays this.

I think that both bands did extremely well, but imo OLN wins because their version just stuck in my head as a whole song, while Halocene made me remember Addie's vocals and energetic but plain insrumental. And by plain I mean the lack of shock factor. The only surprising part for me was the "rapping" and yet it was just a nice addition to the instrumental. OLN however not only created an energetic intro, but they added more energy in the second verse and amplified it in the breakdown, giving the song a specific structure which ties all the parts together. Also I found Halocene's version more chaotic and I think that chaos wasn't harnessed as imo it should have been

OLN is very much a tight, smooth sound. The drums and guitar match better with each other. Halocene is a bit "heavier" in their rendition, more in your face. Just stylistic. Its like having mike tyson vs muhammed ali

Couple more to add to this competition: Reinaeiry and Annapantsu. Not hard rock but still wow.

If you look through some of Halocenes shorts, you will stumble across a short about how to say Halocene. Its Hal-uh-cene 🙂
