Hi I am from the UK and think what you are doing is fantastic. We used to travel a lot when our kids were small with our caravan all over Europe. Then we went into timeshare we had one in Spain and the second one in Florida. We spent two weeks every year either in Florida or Spain. Then we started cruising went 4 times to the Caribbean and then cruised around Europe. Once we retired we sold up in the UK and bought a villa on a golf resort in Spain we were there for 10 years and my husband became sick and we moved back in 2015 sadly he passed away that year. I am now living with my son, I am 89 years old and loved my life.❤️❤️

I see people saying living on a cruise ship would get old. I can see the point. I at times get bored towards the end of the cruise. However if I could work from the ship (online) and not have to worry about things at home I think it would be great. No cooking, cleaning, driving etc would be nice. I think I’d just get into a routine and that becomes life. A decent trade off for ever changing ocean views, meeting new people and a chance to have new experiences is an awesome goal. Congrats 😊

Thanks for sharing your background with us. So nice to learn more about my new friends! My wife and I are in our 70's. We have been married 45 years so far. I retired 10 years ago from Boeing where I was a Systems Administrator maintaining their international network infrastructure. I also have a KZbin page where I share Mandelbrot Fractal Zooms, pinball games, racing games, & poker gameplay. I really enjoyed learning about your life histories! Interesting to learn about Steve being a sheriff. I was a volunteer search & rescue EMT doing cave and general rescue in Illinois, Missouri, & Indiana. I was the President of the St. Louis Caving Society and did cave restoration & led cave trips for various Depts of Conservation. So nice to learn about Angela's teaching career. I respect teachers and the influence they have on young people's lives. So nice to get to know you better. My wife & I raised 6 kids and now they help take care of us as we get older. 🙂

Hi friends! Steve and Angela, in so many ways we're living parallel lives. Thank you for sharing your story! Unexpected health issues changed our lives radically in 2015. Ironically, those health issues helped us to prioritize what is most important to us in life and changed our perspectives. Right now, my brothers and I are blessed and honored to be caring for our elderly mom. This limits our travels and adventures to a certain extent. We discovered the joys of cruising in 2008 and have steadily cruised since that time. I know we could do it on a full-time basis. I'm so happy you've been able to secure an ocean view cabin. We're anxiously waiting for Villa Vie Odessey to get up and running so we can join y'all for a segment. You're living the dream as far as we're concerned. It's funny how you can only know someone through their videos yet feel like you could truly be friends with them.

Love, love, LOVE the way you say friends! I am pretty new to cruising (have only been on one, going on my second in October), but I am already hooked. I would love to cruise for a year with trips home in between for family milestones or emergencies after I retire one day. I just love how stress-free cruising can be most of the time. My husband of 32 years did sorta the same thing with passing out. I took him straight to emergency that was packed to walls. I told triage the story and they started taking vitals while I moved the car from the circle at the door to the parking lot. I came back in and they told me my husband had flat lined and was in the back with doctors. I went back and in that small room was 15-20 people with paper and needles all over the floor, chaos and a small woman on top of his chest beating him with all her might until they could get the paddles to shock his heart going. My emotions from seeing all this was dramatic so two nurses pulled me out of the room into a small personal waiting room where I was visited by a chaplain. He was "dead" 35 minutes when they shocked his heart back to rhythm. In ICU for 3 weeks on a vent and prognoses was not good. Already on kidney dialysis from being "dead" for so long and a sick liver and still hadn't breathed on his on. I prayed and prayed, and it was truly an invention from God that he survived. Not only survived with all of his organs shutting down but completely recovered now except a few things from the stroke that he also had because of not getting proper oxygen for so long when he was "dead". I have witnessed a miracle from Heaven and live everyday thanking God for the blessings he has granted myself and my husband. You guys touched me with your story. Thanks for doing this channel. I love getting a notification you have posted. Look forward to next time!

I so enjoy watching you two. Your infectious positivity is refreshing. Telling your backstory helps put all the puzzle pieces together. You have a loyal follower here. I started working on cruise ships in the 1980’s after training as an ER/ICU nurse. At that time the ships didn’t have stabilizers and were smaller vessels powered by steam. I started out working and sailing in French Polynesia. Quite fortunately ended up working on the American built sister ships the SS Constitution and SS Independance built in 1951. They were true beauties. I continued to bounce between land life and missing ships. I have no interest in the monster size cruise ships. You have a great opportunity to form an unique community on the Villa Vie. My best friends now 40 years later are my from my ship family. Hope to meet you both on one of the extended segments next year.

I’m so impressed with the work you both have done for the people of Nicaragua, simply amazing. I’m also a follower of JJ Cruise though I had heard about Villa Vie before they talked about it. I actually have printed out their comparison figures between a 55+ home in a very popular area in Florida vs Villa Vie. We are sold on the idea. Perhaps within the next year or so we may become neighbors. Thank you for sharing your story. 🙏❤️

Thank you for sharing ❤so pleased that you didn’t give up your property. We were supposed to sail on the Braemar then Covid came along. We live in UK and have been cruising since 2004. Our first cruise was also on a Fred Olsen ship, the Black Watch, a beautiful ship now scrapped 😢 to the Norwegian fjords. Looking forward to following along on your adventure ❤️

Thanks so much for joining us. Holding on to that property for the just in case. Hopefully they bring the Braemar back to her former glory. So far so good...

Hi Steve and Angela. I'm Tom McClean and I run the, 'Tom Mcclean Positive Belfast', KZbin Channel. I've been Youtubing since 2013 or so. I cover a lot of the history, wildlife, street art, cemetery walk rounds, cruise ship visits, churches, architecture, museums, good walks, etc etc of Belfast and beyond. I'm coming 71 and have been married to Tanya for 43 years and we have 3 grown up children and 2 grandchildren. I still ride my 600cc Honda motorbike to do my KZbin videos. We've been to Florida once, decades ago, with the children to Disney. I was down videoing the Odyssey cruise ship, the other day for my wee KZbin channel. At that time I didn't quite realize what was going on for the ship passengers. Today I saw you two on our local Belfast evening news, so I thought I'd 'call in' with you via KZbin and wish you well. Can I wish you two a belated welcome to Belfast? I'm sorry to hear about the delays in the Odyssey getting up and running. It must be so frustrating for you all on board. I'm listening to your back story. You speak of your jobs. Angela was a teacher, so was I. Wow Steve was a sheriff! and then you talk of retirement and Christian Missions. Wow! Then you talk of family loss and personal health problems! We have had all this too. Life can be very tough at times. We appreciate each new day. I had a heart attack on St Valentines Day this year. I thank God for each day, good or bad. Then a few weeks after I got home from hospital with 3 stents, we went on our first ever cruise, down the Greek coast. ( it's all on my channel. )Then we came home after a week and a month ago we watched our youngest son get married! -We are always very busy. Life is always very full. Hey, I really hope things get moving for you all. I hope my wee KZbin 'call' cheers you up a wee bit. I've physically met up with a lot of guys who do KZbin channels here. I've also 'met up' with fellow KZbinrs from all over the world. It's a fascinating thing to do. Hey you two take care. Best wishes from the Belfast Castlereagh hills. PS Have you any idea when you might be able to sail out? If it's not for a few weeks I could maybe get down to you and do a meet up, or else bon voyage!!!

We may need to get together!!! We will have to check out your channel, too! Sounds like you have a full life for sure!! Thanks for watching!!!

New subscriber here. I'm so excited for you. My husband and I did something similar when we sold everything that wouldn't fit on our motor home and went full time for years. After some serious health problems we came off the road but have never regretted it for a moment. The one cruise we did (Alaska) I was so sea sick I can't imagine full time cruising for us but will for sure be following along as you do it. Good luck!
@MidLifeCruising952 ай бұрын
Ooooh, sea sickness is the worst!! Steve gets it sometimes, so we will see how he does. RVing sounds amazing to me, but I haven't convinced Steve of that one.

Thank you for sharing your personal journey in this video. We're new retirees, but long time Florida residents. As luck would have it, we'll be in Belfast in early September, so we'll look to see if Villa Vie is still in port. Best wishes on your new adventure!

Thank you for sharing, Steve and Angela. I have done three trans-Atlantic crossings. I love the uninterrupted time at sea and share in your excitement for seeing new places. I have a dog now which rules out VillaVie for now but I have examined the deck plans and have picked out a favorite cabin. Now that your Oceanview room has been set (congrats), consider getting some paint and freshening up the walls if you'll be in port for another week. Regarding your future cruise life, I was wondering what you have budgeted for shore excursions. With your resourcefulness I can imagine you getting involved in selling shore packages to your fellow cruisers. You'd be a fun group guide, and could make some side money on that venture also. I like your reports and enthusiasm, thank you.
@MidLifeCruising952 ай бұрын
Thank you, might be a good business venture. Ha ha We have not budgeted much for excursions yet. That is the main reason we started this channel. We figure we will do one amazing trip per month, a few middle priced ones, and lots and lots of free ones. ha ha We can walk for many miles, so if we can get there on foot, we sure will. We also like using public transportation to travel around.
