Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada, the reviver of Sanatana Dharma, is the foremost philosopher to have lived in this country. Such a knower of the Truth like Bhagavatpada, such a visionary like Bhagavatpada, has not been born in our country. He lived only for 32 years. However, even a hundred people, in a hundred life times could not have accomplished what He achieved. He mastered all the Vedas by the time He was only eight years old. He mastered all the Shastras by the age of twelve. This is beyond even our imagination. Before He reached sixteen, He completed writing His Bhashyas (commentaries). This feat seems unbelievable. Such a luminary as Bhagavatpada Adi Shankara not only wrote the Bhashyas (commentaries), He also wrote many Prakarana-granthas and Stotras. And thus graced us all. All His writings are full of meaning, and are enlightening. Be it His Granthas or Stotras, if we correctly understand them, our lives will become sanctified. And we can reach great heights in our lives.
