Its great how you guys like to do things step by step and observe the differences rather than just bolt on all the “upgrades” at once regardless

Great video, never know that adjusting the ride hight, would change corner weight. Look forward to seeing the next videos

Anti roll bar is a subframe out job on the front. The rear you can feed out through the side of you take the springs out

I'll tell the mechanics, haha

Also if it’s the same as the R53 & R56 try just changing the rear as it’s gives less under steer on the front 👍

Pry bar and a mallet, I bet that's exactly how Bilstein intended. :-)

Really enjoyed this mate. That John Deer is a fucking beast to be able to pull an adult and a trailer lol madness!
@MagicianMan4 жыл бұрын
Kinda interesting that John Deer in a large number of states in the USA don't have the "Right to Repair" so if something breaks you not entitled to be able to repair it and/or have access to specialised tools to be even able to repair/change mechanicals! What a crazy world those yanks live in.

It's the same here really with the software updates, just less public!

Did you ever create a video for changing the Anti-Roll Bars? I've done the rear, but hoping you don't have to drop the front sub frame to do it?
@DarksideDevelopments9 ай бұрын
Unfortunately you'll have to drop the subframe on minis

Great video as usual, gonna be a proper little weapon when it's all set up!!! George is hilarious, hoping my Little Man will enjoy getting his hands dirty when he's bigger enough to work with me at my garage.

hi guys wondered if you can help me with adjustment. on my jcw the drivers rear was set 45mm (from top to the adjustment collar) whilst the opposite side was basically bottomed out just so it achieved the same ride height. to me that seems odd baring in mind this was the first time installing coilovers. im sure everything was seated correctly. is there anything i need to check or look out for?

Without having the vehicle it's hard to say if there are any hardware or installation issues. I would think these should be pretty even.

So, I'm looking at the specs for this F56 and there's nothing about the front swaybar you have on the work bench.... I will assume that once you have installed the new front and rear swaybars, you will update the spec info to reflect the change. Also, is the swaybar kit or front swaybar different on a petrol (regular Gas) F56 than on a F56 SD? I haven't been able to find any front swaybar upgrade for my 2017 F56 S, only the rear. Great videos, love your work and projects!!!

What's the purpose of corner weighting? I'm guessing by adjusting the springs then you are effectively altering how much weight is in each corner?
@DarksideDevelopments4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it affects the dynamics of the car massively. This was reasonably ok to start. Some can be 100s of KG apart
@charlies4184 жыл бұрын
That Mini is HEAVY for such a small car (was that with a full tank of fuel?). Years ago I can remember a guy turning up at Donington Park in a BMW to take part in a race. He turfed his family out and then proceeded to empty the boot and then strip out the rear and passenger seats! It would be good to see how much weight you can actually strip out of it and what difference it makes 0-60.
