nintendo has to be doing these leaks on purpose. imagine they never did an official announcement, have the launch date leaked. and actually released it on the date without marketing. nintendo would save a fortune

Im convinced most of the leaks these days are put out there on purpose yeah- to build hype among the hardcore fans while keeping the reveal to release window small for general audiences. Its the best of both worlds, and we do half of their marketing for them!

I think it’s more to do with the fact that most consumer electronics are manufactured in a country with no respect for copyright laws. Happens like clockwork with every big product launch.

Yeah, no. Imagine how confused a customer would be. Not happening. If Nintendo likes one thing, it's information control. Forget about release dates, what IS THE CONSOLE?! We still don't even know what the thing looks like (Officially). Not to mention if they were producing the leaks, that essentially IS their marketing. What I think is more likely is Nintendo has been trying to let the Switch live for as long as it can, but are being forced to reveal small bits of information due to the sheer hunger from fans and particularly investors.

@@Hornet9716 Some companies do that but Nintendo can't STAND confusing customers. They still have PTSD from Wii U's "advertising". A lot of the recent rumours are lining up more and more but some of the older ones really don't do Nintendo any favours.

I'm gonna watch The Game Awards to see what happens, but okay, this is just ridiculous all these rumors of what the Switch 2 console looks weird or bad I just hope Nintendo can reveal this console next year before all these rumors of Switch 2 start happening before they can reveal it like come on Nintendo you guys need to reveal this thing before all of this starts happening.

Honestly if this is real Switch 2 design looking kinda boring… i hope they add a different color… I’m sick of Black & White color schemes… Switch OLED already did the black and white plus both PS5 & Xbox are all Black & White designs…. Also why do the tablet portion of the Switch always gotta be black???

colors are always guesswork with renders and "leaks". no one will know the colors until they come out.

I’m very happy if they basically didn’t change much. Blow us away with the games, not the console. It will be boring to some, but I want them to be mostly boring this gen. The Switch is probably the most fun console ever. Don’t change a great thing. It’s all about the next 3d Mario game, Metroid Prime 4, Mario Kart, and Animal Crossing imo. Those need to blow the fans away.

My question is kind of weird. Why having a successor almost identical to his predecessor ? It will be a success and it will sells well, no doubt... Because we Nintendo fans are hyped. But can we really talk about progress and/or revolution ? I doubt it. I don't want to be rude, but if leaks are true, the new console is like a ''DLC'' to the Switch 😅

the switch connects with hdmi using the usb-c port. what if, you can do that with a longer cable, and still use the handheld as a second screen. coping cuz i miss the Dual Screen of the DS...

The letter buttons look incredibly ai at 11:20. Very inconsistent lips around the buttons. This is not something that would occur if you put this together in a 3d modeling program. They would be consistently shaped and sized. The left side joystick also looks oblong, or not perfectly circular, even if it sits at an angle in the picture. does not look right to me.

I'm glad that the shoulder buttons are more distinguished - in a standard Switch I often have to look at which one is L1 and which L2 because I don't feel the difference very well

I was guessing from leaks a larger screen- 8 inches, color buttons, magnetic joycons and maybe a second screen. Its enough to hype about the switch 2. I d predict a January reveal trailer and a May or june launch. Onboard the switch2 hype train 🚂 🚆!😮😮😮

This is more likely a switch xl rather than a switch 2. Nintendo often release new versions of old consoles. This is nothing new, nothing worthy of the number 2. People are being blind.

I'm probably being over dramatic, but I get so annoyed when Nintendo stubbornly refuses to do basic things that are STANDARD in the rest of the industry. The one thing holding back the Switch Pro controller was not having analog triggers, so surely they'd fix that, right? I really hope they do, but going by the joycon leaks, I'm guessing not... Why? What possible reason is there to keep inferior digital buttons over the more tactile & useful analog triggers? Triggers that Nintendo popularized with the GC & that everyone loved! It's like when the opted go forego system level voice chat in favor of a convoluted phone app wired to the console & headsets, or refusing to add themes & achievements, or sticking with friend codes. There's just no reason for these things other than "other people are doing it, so we have to be different."

I am disappointed in this design tbh. One thing that Sony gets right with Playstation is that each console looks 100% different. This looks a bit too similar to Switch 1

PlayStation console designs have been rancid for the last three generations though. I’m very happy with the conservative design of Switch 2, all I want is a bigger screen and performance upgrade. Otherwise I have no complaints about the original switch.
