This is our MOST EPIC 48 Hours in the Philippines! If you haven't heard of Moalboal, it is a tiny coastal resort town in Cebu and it has quickly become our new favourite place. We initially came here just to do canyoneering but we extended our stay because there's so much more to explore here - from swimming with sardines and turtles to trekking to the highest peak in Cebu. @@FloraandNote if you have an hour you need to kill time you can see the turtles again this time for free just a few meters from the beach of Panagsama and a few more meters before or right at the ocean drop are more sardines. You don’t need a guide but we paid for one and he literally pulled me and husband closer to the turtles and sardines while we were snorkeling and took the video and pictures of us next to the subjects. So worth it! We took off close to one of the restaurants.

Cebuanos love the ocean denizens that's why most of them swim so close to the shores allowing people (locals and visitors) to interact or swim with them. Sea turtles, whale sharks, thresher sharks, reef sharks, actually can be observed all over Cebu's shallow waters, from south to north. Unlike in other areas in the Philippines where these creatures can only be observed far from the shores.

That walk going up is good cardio exercise and burn lots of calories from snacks eaten before the hike. Those tour guides are physically fit to do that kind of work to make a living. The million sardines are actually visible from the panagsama beach. Swim for 40m away from the beach (or go where the diving boats are) and all you need is a mask and a snorkel. But if course the island you went to is really beautifull
