I knew Steve had a 69 nova but it's cool to see it--- I had a 69 nova painted black well for a few years. At least it was sold instead of wrecked. Steve is really quite humble for a guy who does all the grunt work. Matt is lucky to have Steve on the team as well as Mike with all Mike's encyclopedic parts knowledge!

My first car was a 1962 American Motors Rambler 6 banger with 3 on the tree ! My 2 favorite cars was 1966 Ford Fairlane 2 door hardtop with a 289 automatic transmission and a 1968 or 1969 Dodge Dart GT 2 door hardtop with 318 and automatic transmission ! Steve's been a real good asset to Iron Trap Garage ! Looking forward to many more great videos from you guys !

Steve's great . Fun to hear his back story. I'll bet most of us subscribers have similar ones. Mine started 20yrs earlier but was the same. It's the view out the windows of your office that grabs our heart strings. A view most hotrod lovers dream of. And Moon is great. I mentioned before we have his clone that we named Hawk. Wow, loved that interview with Steve, I'd say it's best one yet, as we all know Steve, and what a reserved but interesting guy, and as for his background, I can relate to that, loved cars all my life, also found my first Hot Rod Mag in a local newsagents where I was working in the early 1960's, which got me into building AMT models of 1940's fords and dragster models, (wish I'd kept all the old Hot Rod & custom mags from the day 😪) and when I was courting, again in the 1960's, I met a guy was into American cars, and he had a big double lock up garage at the bottom of the garden of the flat he was renting, and he started buying all these American cars, which we played around with, and he started buying and selling them. A couple of young brothers who lived opposite, started building hot rods, putting Jaguar engines into 1950's English cars, which gave my mate the bug. Fast forward a few years and he got into UK drag racing, being one of the original team that started Santa Pod Raceway, so I got my early baptism into working around drag race cars, we built Funny Cars and Jet Dragsters, which my mate raced, he knew all the top English & American racers of the day, plus we toured around the circuits of Europe demonstrating the cars. And like Steve, I owned a 1973 Chevy Malibu, with a six pot engine (which I loved) and I had a 1974 Chevy Monte Carlo with a 350, that I restored, and my mate painted it BMW Black Anthracite, previously I had owned a 1963 Dodge Dart slant six Convertible, and a 1963 Dodge Polara convertible with a 383, now I just watch your vids and dream, as what you could buy in the 1960's & 1970's for a few hundred £'s, now costs the price of a new luxury car, plus unlike your great country, the UK trying to ban fuel & classic cars 🥲 Keep up the great work, I'm there with you helping in spirit 😄👍

I can see why Steve likes his Nova. I was home on leave back in 70, when this 70 nova SS350 pulls up and my best friend Johnny jumps out and says you have to drive this. 4 speed on the floor, was the greatest thing putting it through the gears. What a beautiful car.

Wow, this brought me back a few years. My brother and I used to run our bikes at New England Dragway. The place was awesome because we saw everything there from dragsters to grocery getters to jet cars. The afterburners of the jet cars would bake the top layer off the pavement at the start line. My brother was almost taken out once by an old Super Beetle with a SBC that lifted its front wheels halfway down the track and swung into his lane. Missed him by a couple inches. My ex brother-in-law ran a Pinto with a SBC, blower, wide slicks and wheelie bars that he also drove on the street and was always running out of gas. Good times.

Steves the MAN ! my first car a 76 Cutlass S , ultimately a 400 HP 455 which only the factory body & frame remained by the time I was done ... spent 15 ish years in Chev-Olds dealers as a parts guy , didnt want to deal with being a mechanic , owned an white 84 Monte SS for near 20 years .... that may have been the best podcast yet! steve seems like a darn cool guy and it sounds like he's probably about my age; our early years are real similar as well. i too recall the '82 issue of hot rod mag coming in the mail (although i'm more of a mopar guy) and started my youth as a mechanic in the 1980s until i realized it wasn't for me. the chemistry between you four (moon!) is awesome! sweet nova, steve!
