Ok... Just finished a good strong morning cup of coffee and I've gotten to share a little learnin' with my students and I've got a bit of time to get down to business here. First off... the energy of the video was top notch. I felt like I was actually both walking around and sitting at the table with you. The whole bull riding thing was fun to watch. I tried the mechanical bull a few years ago and it kicked my butt, so good on both of you for getting up their and taking your licks on the bull! That's challenging yourself to do something new... despite knowing that two things could occur... 1. You'll look like an absolute idiot... and 2. There might be a bit of pain involved in the encounter. Awesome! As a side note... a gondola can either be the small boat that is used in Venice to ferry folks around and a large, enclosed ski lift which carries folks up the sides of mountains. Now, back to our regularly scheduled program... Let's talk about romance. This is paramount for me right now since Jennifer and I are celebrating our 17th anniversary this weekend. Romance has been on my mind... A LOT. I've been asking myself how I can show that my wife that she has been my best friend, partner, lover, confessor, taskmaster, teacher, and soother of life's pains... the center... the number one person in my day to day existence. Is it simply a night out, dinner, and flowers? What can do justice to a relationship like that? I'm working on that right now. How does this relate to you? I know that you're a vlogger and your life is reflected in the vlog. But... romance is quiet whispers... secret communication... silent side by side hand holding. Romance is vulnerability... it's showing the inner workings of the heart despite fear of revulsion or rejection... It's "this is me... and I submit my heart to you alone." That's really a scary but beautiful place to go. If you want it bad enough... do it... say it... but put the camera down. Romance, although great for clicks, is for you and her alone. And... this is a lifetime thing, because life gets filled with all sorts of "stuff." This week alone, we've had extra curricular things, longer hours at work, taking kids to the doctor, and making dinner on the fly-and it's only the middle of the week. Love and marriage is work, so romance is the reminder why we do all the things we do for the people we love. When you're tired and it's been a completely crappy day, the most wonderful thing you could possibly hear is..."Thank you, I love you... you're important to me." That's all I have to say... but I'm glad I did. It just reinforced why I love my wife so much. So, buddy... roll out the romance and make her feel like the queen she deserves to be... Good luck, brother. It's worth the work! Keep on keepin' on!
