Our Must Have Gear for our Airstream Globetrotter & Leisure Travel Van: pagosasupply.co/gear-suggestions

We have the 2020 Globetrotter 27 twin bed. We love it! Just got back from the factory for some warranty repair issues. When you go, you must go to the new Museum and you won’t be disappointed. Excellent presentation of the brand history of Airstream. The service there is top notch with super friendly staff and of course they did a great job fixing the issues we had. Best of luck with your new Globetrotter!

Thanks for the suggestion. We most certainly will do that. We are loving the AS!

Yas! Loving this🥰. I had been debating between airstream & LTV for the last 2 years, came close to ordering the Globtrotter in June, ultimately I got in on a LTV cancelled order last week🥂. I’m so excited & decided on the LTV for the reason you just mentioned, it’s easier to navigate & set up & tear down! So it’s good to hear you confirming my thought process😁. The thing that made it easier to pull the plug on the LTV was the thought that I could get my airstream later after I get some RV’ing under my belt❤️. You’re my people😘. Thanks for the vids!

Awesome! Yes, get the LTV and get comfortable with the RV things. But you will love the LTV and may just want to stick with it!

All right…looking forward to your learning journey. As you know - still in the research phase for our “RV Life” future. Airstreams have been right up their on our list. Trying to balance that ‘tow vs drive’ decision. Pros and cons to both to be sure. Won’t be able to justify one of each. So I’m excited to watch you learn along the way. Can only help us as we leverage your always valuable insights. Have fun!

I can tell you the LTV is like a sports car compared to 50 feet of truck and trailer!
@ScottBlackmanTexas2 жыл бұрын
@@Pagosa I can imagine! A lot more “vehicle” there with both the trailer and the 350. I can definitely see that the LTV is much more conducive to longer trips with multiple overnights in different locations along the way with the least amount of fuss. But the Globetrotter clearly has the space and amenities that lend themselves to longer stays in the same location. Looking forward to continuing to learn vicariously through your experience :-)

We have the 2019 27 FBQ with the same medicine cabinet mirror problem. Our Airstream dealer tried adjusting the hinge to no avail. My work around is using a rubber door stop wedge that I place between the wall and cabinet door. Doesn’t mar the wall, quick and easy to place when needed and the cabinet will not drop on you head. We have made many little changes that help in the day today living. Safe travels

Interesting, you own an LTV and then bought a second RV being an airstream. We own a 2011 airstream flying cloud 27FB, bought it new and love it! We will not be getting rid of it but we’re looking at getting an LTV as a second RV for shorter trips, the reverse of what you did. We also travel with dogs, to borzoi‘s, and the airstream works quite well for that, not too sure about the leisure van but then again it will be for short trips, if we get one. As for your problem with the bathroom mirror, ours does lock up when you open it, however, we simply used command Velcro strips and attached a full length mirror to the inside of the bathroom door. Has been there for 10 years and has not fallen off
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
Nice! You will actually love the LTV. We would be happy with just it, but really wanted a new experience. The LTV is like driving a car, go anywhere and not really have to plan gas stops and such. I’ll tell Janet about that mirror idea for sure!

Great channel, we have had trailers and Class A motorhome (flat towed a man trans Forester). Took a break for a couple of years and looking to get back into a RV. We currently have a 2019 Chevy Express van 3500 with a 6.0. We currently have four dogs so the purchase might be delayed for a couple of years. I know there are many campgrounds that only allow two dogs, state and federal parks especially. Love the LTV and Airstreams. Cheers !

It looks like you went the opposite way that most RVers go. We started out truck camping, followed by tent campers. Then had several trailer trailers. Artic Fox 35', Argosy 26' then an Airstream 31'. Our next move if there is one is a Class B+ motorhome for just my wife and I. It gets really old towing a large rig, hitching and unhitching and trying to find a fuel station where you won't get trapped. We traveled all over the US with our two kids and enjoyed the time on the road. But sold the last RV three years ago and I don't miss the care and feeding these things require. Paid 31K for our new 31' Airstream years ago and you know where prices have gone. The new ones cost more than our first home not to mention the cost of a decent tow vehicle. The RV lifestyle is becoming a rich mans experience in stead of the economical travel option it used to provide for families.We've been looking at the Leisure Travel Wonder with the rear lounge or the twin bed model with garage storage.
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
I'm definitely loving the best of both worlds. The Airstream for our extended stays in places and the Leisure Travel Van for exploring. You will love the Wonder for sure

Congrats on your new trailer. We have a 2021 Globetrotter 30’ Queen. Also in Barcelona Blue. We love it! Don’t have the closets in the bedroom. The toilet area is bigger than the 27” and the kitchen table configuration is much different. Agree about the hot water system filling up the grey water when you don’t have full hook up. Supposedly, there is a recirculating system you can add to help with that, but I don’t know the details. The compressor fridge is great. Your Tow Vehicle provides power for the fridge (check your battery meter in the AS when you’re hooked up and the truck is running. You’ll see it at 13+ volts from the truck). Don’t know about the 27’, but in the 30’ the sink in the bathroom drains to the black tank. So the black tank can fill faster than you’d expect. We love our Airstream. We’ve had it since May and already have a bunch of trips. We also have 3 dogs and a 13 yr old, so it’s a full house! Good luck
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
We do love it and thanks for the tip about the recirculating system, will certainly look into that! Maybe see you all out on the road!

I have the same coach except in a Queen bed, between REI and Target, I got some nice storage bins for bathroom vanity and overhead storage compartments. I leave the tables down most of the time and have a L shaped lounge. Also have Barcelona Blue interior. JC Penny has nice bedspreads and quilts that match perfect. The Fusion stereo with JL Audio speakers is phenomenal. I also installed a ten foot carpet runner down the middle from pedestal to bathroom. I have a wood shop and made a custom solid maple cutting board that sits in sink in place of Corean covers, I remove and let sink open when traveling. Looked at a 23’ and a 25’ Airstream and the 27’ was so much nicer with the larger wardrobe and kitchen pantry. I also added Battleborn lithium batteries and two more solar panels. The Victron controller and on board battery chargers are compatible with lithium batteries.

Watched your video on your GT. We too have a 21GT27FBQ and love it. I would like to offer a fix for the bathroom mirror. There are adjustment screws on the lift mechanism that can make it stay up. Look on top of the mechanism and you'll see the screw slots. Tighten and it should hold the mirror open. Hope that helps! Enjoy

Congrats happy journey's ; We have a 2022 Grand Design XLS 22mle; but now we're looking at a smaller Tab 400 TT for distance travel and maybe a future Electric F150? Waiting for the FLA Tampa RV Super show in Jan 2023. We are going in the opposite direction with a smaller 2nd TT . Keeping our larger couples TT on Property here in Miami, FLA and a 2nd smaller unit on a our property in North Florida, for excursions Mid West and Western Mountains to keep it simple and more fuel efficient and easy here in a city of Miami as a daily driver my 1500 GMC Elevation.

Hey Brandon…love your channel. Do you think it is easier to drive a Leisure or tow an Airstream? I’m concerned I won’t be able to maneuver a trailer very well. Any advice?
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
Airstreams are easier than most trailers, but Leisure’s are 10X easier. In fact I just had to drive about a mile out of my way to turn around in the airstream when I could have just u turned in the LTV
@ricktaylor63732 жыл бұрын
I like airstreams overall and how they look inside and out but not their price. And getting nimble with what you just climbed out of I get. Hard to compare apples to oranges. Towing is one thing and driving a motorhome from short to long is another, sure you know that beyond doubt. I bought a new 2021 gulfstream conquest le 6320 last yeat and it’s 33’8””, and pull a small pickup. Happy with the setup. How much does your trailer weigh dry? And cargo carry capacity? I like the floor layout a lot!👍😀
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
The AS is about 6,300 dry with an OCCC of 1,300. We are happy with it for sure

Congratulations! Any plans to swap tires and wheels for 16" LT's? Seems like that's a popular upgrade for Airstream trailers.
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. Just got back from 1,900 mile round trip (with hours of 100+ West Texas heat) and the factory Goodyears did great. Never got above 100 degrees and more than 15% PSI. So far, so good.
@steveestill54272 жыл бұрын
What type of Ford Truck do you tow the AirStream? Is it an F150 and if so, what type of engine, specs etc. Trying to decide what size trailer to tow with our F150 4x4 with Eco boost 3.5L
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
It's an F350 Diesel. Wouldn't advise pulling anything over 25 feet with an F150. Check your specs. It's not if the truck will pull it, but can it stop it and control it. Don't want the tail wagging the dog. Really recommend the globetrotter!

Demco hitch … same issue as ours (GT 23 2021). theres a few tricks to it…..but it in to neutral once trailer in position then into park. As ur raising trailer pull up lever at same time. 9 times out of ten it works…pain in the butt. If ur on a slope have ur wife sit in ur truck and have foot on brake as trailer will move a couple inches….. If u find a better or any fix let us know.
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
Dealer fixed when in for 90 day warranty appointment. Seems the inside of the hitch needs to be sanded out. Too much paint or something inside the hitch that makes it difficult. Now works as intended.

Congratulations on the Airstream! Can you tell me what campground you filmed this video at? We are picking up our new Airstream Globetrotter 27 next month! We owned a LTV several years back but sold it when we relocated. We have owned a few different rv’s since then that all had slides and were way too tall! We are ready for the lower profile, no slide simplicity that the Airstream offers.
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
Hi, this was filmed at Winstar casino on the Texas / Oklahoma border. First class RV park. Agree about the Airstream 😀
@20cbwestiesden502 жыл бұрын
Even from just watching all the videos, LTVs' quality is way much better. Airstream, on the other hand, is one of the brands own by Thor. You know...
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
Actually the Airstream is either better built better or equal as far as what Airstream actually builds. The third party components that they put in are either equal or less than what LTV puts in, like the water heater. Thor owning them hasn't diminished their quality it seems. Thor is just the owner, not the builder. We shall see how it goes, but very impressed so far.

Awesome Praiseallelujah! You probably already know about this and it also may already be in your plans that you're going to discuss in the future, however just in case I just wanted to share this with you especially since I just saw their video just before yours. The KZbin channel "WanderLocal" just put a video out about some upgrades they're doing or going to be doing to their airstream which will protect it and keep it cleaner and cooler inside and out. It has to do with coatings for exterior and interior surfaces as well as windows, and the importance of going to a professional and not just a retailer. Go check out their video and I hope it helps. If you already know about it no harm no foul. Enjoy your new airstream and I'm looking forward to your future videos with it as well as your LTV videos. Bravo Zulu!!! Hoorah!!!
