Our New Barn Cats are Feral Kittens - Meet The Claw Crew

Four New Barn Cats are Feral Kittens. Even though we recently added Fozzy Bear Barn Cat to the farm I needed to confess that I've been keeping these four little kittens inside the house for the past 2 months. It's because we were trying to tame them. Cause they're pretty wild and feral. They've started their barn training now since we've tamed them a bit. Fozzy Bear continues to get to know the farm and is wandering further away from the barn. Molly the Old English Sheepdog is usually his guard and Stormy Barn Cat is not far behind trying to creep up on Fozzy whenever she gets a chance. I love how you gave their names! In 2011 I too rescued 3 stray cats and one of them a tabby kitten from feral mum. I thought that having her very young will tame but sadly not. I love her to bits but from the distance 😂. Nobody likes cuddles. Ginger boy has gone missing so two girls left black and tabby ones.

We’ll Fozzy is staying in the room with the kittens at night so he should be getting used to them. But Fozzy and Stormy are still getting used to each other, they’re still hissing a bit when they greet each other. Ha the kitties were too wild to let them loose so they didn’t meet pooper. Stormy and Smokey were different and used to sit there and watch Pooper. The kittens got loose in the house one day and it took us hours to get them cause they were just hiding and scared. Hopefully it goes ok at the farm.

Haha thnx John I just filmed Fozzy and Stormy getting one today right in front of me. Problem with those kitties is they weren’t socialized with people, so I had to make sure I could do it before letting the “cat” out of the bag.

In a previous video he said he feeds his cats twice a day, WHAT? No wonder some of his do not always make a kill. DO NOT feed your barn cats. Let the find their own food. You can give them a plate of milk in the evening. That is what my family did on their farm in Europe. My family never made pets of the barn cats. They should be semi feral if you want them to be good hunters.

I’m sorry but if you don’t train your barn to know that this is their new home they may wander off. I’ve had this experience with Fozzy although I trapped him to get him back after 3 days. Majority of the time cats hunt for sport and feeding them has no bearing on whether they will hunt or not. I feed our cats once in the evening for dinner and it’s at the same time I call them back in to be protected. I guess we can agree to disagree cause my opinion is using your system if by chance your cats don’t catch anything that day they will not eat, that’s not how I want to do things. Our cats still catch rodents all the time even though I feed them. I don’t believe you are wrong but your method is not my preference. Molly is so cool. Performing for the camera is effortless. You however need some practice..... The cat claw crew is definitely a favorite of mine BTW, my responses don't need reply. You're a busy guy. Cheers to JD or ☕
