Take a sneak peak at the progress, vision and opportunity within Denver Public Schools' new campus. This video features Denver Public Schools Superintendent Tom Boasberg, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, parents, students, teachers and staff.
The new campus at 1860 Lincoln Street in Downtown Denver will be home to the Downtown Denver Expeditionary School (DDES), Emily Griffith High School (EGHS) and Emily Griffith Technical College (EGTC).
The Downtown Denver Expeditionary School is the first elementary school to be located in downtown Denver. DDES is a result of collaboration among multiple community groups, including the Downtown Denver Partnership, and will serve those who live and work downtown.
The creation of a downtown Denver school has long been a vision of downtown planners, who have sought to make downtown a more livable and attractive location for families.
EGHS and EGTC will also be housed at the new facility. EGTC offers more than 500 courses and serves thousands of students, both adults and youths, every year. Since its inception a century ago, EGTC has served more than 1.6 million students.
Hundreds of DPS staff will also join teachers, students and staff from the three schools within the same 14-floor campus.
