Corner post assembly Rockpile style. Corey's been inventing and designing again to make things better, easy and of course... cheaper by DIYing.

Great work. So many different ways to do corner posts and this one looks strong. Treaded rod at the bottom instead of wire would be my preferred method

Why are you using the ceramic insulators backwards, they are stronger in compression not expansion.

G'day, mate, I admittedly did fast forward through a lot of the video, so apologies if you've addressed it somewhere. When doing a corner end assembly, it's much stronger to have a single stay arrangement pointing into the paddock at whatever angle is halfway between both strains. If, for whatever reason, you can't have the stay pointing on that angle (machinery hazard/goat escape), the closer you can offset two stay assemblies towards that angle, the better.
@ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead
@ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead 3 ай бұрын
Yeah 100% correct there mate, it was mainly to avoid an extra hazard but you’re right about the strength 👍 … fast forwarded…?! C’mon 😂

Love the idea of the threaded rod at the high point , rather than the long piece of threaded rod at the base to put pressure on the post. So easy to come and re-tension later if needed. Is that all made from 50nb 2.3mm Galv pipe ?
@ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead
@ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead Ай бұрын
Cheers mate. The post is 50nb the diagonal is 32nb abd both are 2.3mm

Nice job mate. One thing I thought of. If you drop two spots of weld about 10mm apart down the corner post every 100mm (or so) you'll have little 'nobs' that you can sit the wires in (as you wrap them around) and it will stop them potentially sliding up and down the post as you tension your wires. Useful in case your corner post isn't always perfectly vertical (and they will always move a little). Or you could drive tek screws in and it will do the same thing. By the way @reeceplumbing - for the love of dog, sponsor this man a new t-shirt, he's given you guys so much free publicity. 😉
