Please keep the wood paneling wood!! At least for a little while. You can’t I paint it (easily) and you might end up loving it. I think that room is so rich and cozy❤

Your new house is adorable! I would leave the closed cabinets above the washer & dryer. A laundry room and litterbox room will create a lot of lint/dust. I love your breakfast bar in the kitchen! ❤

If I were you I’d leave that door connecting the nursery for when you have kids. It would be very convenient!
@lcatt69402 ай бұрын
I would add a plain mirror with beveled edges (maybe one with a decorative cut around the edges depending on how much you wanna lean in) on top of the smoked mirrors for an actual functional mirror above the sink.

Glad you popped up in my feed! You got a gem! I have popcorn ceilings in a condo in FL. We decided to leave it because we never look up. Master baths in the 50s, 60s, and 70s were smaller. People were very excited to have one. I am so surprised the house was never updated with central air. The Chanel bag is gorgeous. I love drinking tea in fall and winter.

omg I would give anything for that wood paneling!! 😭I just saved like 20 inspo images on Pinterest because I've been craving that 70's vibe and they allll have wood paneling. I actually clicked on this video because I saw it in the thumbnail and now I'm crossing my fingers you don't paint it 😂 but I'm going to subscribe to see what happens! It's such a beautiful home with so much character! Congrats! 🥳

Thanks so much!! I will not be going for a 70's vibe in that room, but more of a 1940's California cabin vibe. Hope you'll still love it!

Darling home!! I'd pull out that island thing in the kitchen, along with the hanging cupboard. It would open up the space and make it more comfortable.

If I am correct.. that tin drawer in the kitchen might actually be a flour bin. That is why it has a curved side by the opening so you can scoop up with a cup of flour on your baking area , hence the wood counter tops and plugs for mixers and etc.

That “dining room “ would have been called a breakfast nook in the late 50’s, early 60’s. Back then, we had huge whole rooms that were formal dining rooms.

Congratulations! Can't wait to see the transformation. Regarding the cigarette smell, you should try placing it in the freezer. I purchased a handbag from someone on marketplace and they forgot to mention the cigar smell it came with.🙄 I stuffed the handbag to maintain its shape and placed it in a plastic bag in the freezer. I left it there for maybe 24 to 48 hrs and the smell disappeared. I also tried it on a couple of barbies and it worked like a charm. Oh and I then sprayed febreeze's odor fighting spray to make sure the smell wouldn't come back 😊. The items I tried the freezer method on were not leather ( the handbag only had leather handles and the trim) but I think leather would be less of a hassle. Hope it helps!

I would recommend two options: (1) Take it to a leather cleaner and/or (2) Leave it hanging outside in the sun for a day

Put your leather coat into a plastic bag with an open container of activated charcoal, it has incredible absorbtive powers- just use care as the charcoal is powdery and you do not want to get it on anything. Best of luck.

First, Emily, please dress up as Meghan Markle for Halloween. You look a lot like her. Secondly, don't remove the wall paneling, just get some Birch wood liiking wall paper and carefull cover the paneling with it, incorporating the lines then maybe paint the fireplace white.

beautiful house but i would go so crazy not having a dedicated entry room in my home!! i have no idea why the standard in america is for the front door to open directly into the living room rather than there being a vestibule of some sort first? i'm from sweden and most houses are set up with there being a hallway that has doors to the kitchen, living room and then the staircase is usually by the door as well!
@EmilyPertzborn2 ай бұрын
I know! I definitely prefer a proper foyer but they are pretty rare, especially in Southern California.
@lindamounts21932 ай бұрын
It's because of the brutal winters in Sweden to block some of the cold when the door opens. No such problems in Southern California.
