Conner.---Thanks for the update. Of the 3 nests, the osprey is the 'Flakiest " to me. Can't believe a mature osprey or any bird would abandon it's eggs before hatch. As to Angel--she was and is One to me--not because she's Leuclistic and Tom is Reg RTH, but because she is such a good parent. Don't expect Tom to behave like last yr--as a 2nd yr Dad. My biggest concern is with your location on Captiva Island. You couldn't ask for more generous Person to give you so much help for your BE Nest as Laurie has shown. Rather, there is so much rat poison in use there on Captiva island, i feel an eagle nest would be imperiled in yet another season by the Threat of Eaglet(if not Adult) poisonings. It's a big investment people make to watch growing Eaglet family--only to see them be wiped out by man made threat. This is a persistent problem on Captiva island--and(vote of one) would like the Nest be relocated to the mainland and away from the Island proximity . All preps and off season sound Great. I hope Angel and Tom have a full clutch of 5 hawklets to raise--certainly more than one.

I couldn’t agree more!! Watching eaglets slowly die of rat poisoning is a complete horror show. That crap needs to be banned, PERIOD. If it wasn’t available to begin with then we wouldn’t have to educate and beg people not to use it. Here in California it is banned but not for commercial use so you see the bait traps around all the resorts and commercial buildings. Just not acceptable. And we lost little E14 at SWFL so the problem is not just on Captiva.

Hello! I'm glad you have your Eagle camera up with chat-enabled! Can't wait for Angel next year! Yay for brand-new nest camera and a better view! Yay for back-up microphones and back-up infrared lights! *Hopefully* you get that 2nd camera that can pan and zoom around in a better spot! I wanna follow her around the few spots where she does hunt that we can see!! Angel will be back!

Thanks for the update. I enjoy tiling my birds and bees live streams. It looks like the eagle cam is blocking being tiled with other streams (I didn't know this was a thing). Was that done on purpose and is it possible to not block it?
