Our PARENTS visit KANCHANABURI Thailand Travel Vlog-DeathRailway Museum, Glass Skywalk, Erawan Falls

In this Thailand Travel Vlog, we take our parents to Kanchanaburi! My parents have always loved the movie The Bridge on the River Kwai so I knew that we MUST take them to Kanchanaburi when they came to visit us in Thailand!
There aren't many trains between Bangkok and Kanchanaburi, so we decided to take our parents there on a mini bus - our most used mode of transportation when we leave the city!
We arrived in Kanchanaburi, checked into our hotel, and headed straight to the Death Railway Museum (Thai-Burma Museum). My parents really like history so this was another place they REALLY wanted to see! Even though the museum is sad, it has lots of information that is good to look at if you're in the area. Right outside the museum is the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery which is a cemetery for 7,000 POW soldiers who worked on the Death Railway.
After seeing some of the history in Kanchanaburi, we headed over to the new Maeklong Glass Skywalk! It only opened a couple months ago in mid 2022 - when Carles and I visited Kanchanaburi before it wasn't even built yet! My mom was scared of the glass, however we all ended up having so much fun!
Next we had to check out the famous Bridge on the River Kwai. We spent some time exploring the bridge and ended up eating Thai food for dinner right next to the bridge where we were able to watch the train cross the bridge in front of us!
The following day we got up early to take a songthaew to the famous Erawan Falls National Park! This is another place Carles and I had already been, but we loved it enough that we wanted to take our parents to see it too! Our of the 7 waterfalls tiers we made it up to tier 5!
After spending a few hours in the national park, we came back to Kanchanaburi to take the famous train back to Bangkok!
This was another place in Thailand that our parents LOVED!!! They were so excited to see it!

As I used to be a tour guide. I was a guide for many groups from many countries around the world. Kanchanaburi was always the place that European and Australian clients choose to visit since its history. There was one group of my clients. They intentionally came to visit the cemeteries. I along with them went to both cemeteries in the province in order to search for a name on those gravestones which was their great grandfather. And after we found it. The condolences and sadness filled all my heart. They cried at that gravestone. The suffering death of their great grandfather. That was not unpleasant time to me. In the other hand I felt some thankfulness through our journey in their heart to help them fulfilling the left behind people’s will by visiting the memorial of their ancestor here in Thailand. They are rest in peace in the land that far away from home leaving people they love without any farewell. War never give anything but losing. P.S. I like Natalie’s mother. She’s always excited to everything she met in Thailand. I like the way she described how she feel. Many optimistic words from her about traveling Thailand 😆😆😆 Next time I wish I can see more of Calres’ parents. 😊😊

Every time I watch the video of the Kanchanaburi POW cemetery, I am saddened by the lives of the young men who died here. They were buried here, never having been given the chance to touch the soil of their homeland. They should have had a good life if the war hadn't taken it away from them. The skywalk is something new to me in Kanchanaburi. I had no idea there was such a place as this.

It was really sad 😭 especially with all the tombstones having their ages on them and they were all so young!! I randomly found an article about the skywalk before it opened! So I really wanted to go when we visited!! I think it’s been open less than 3 months?? But it’s only like a 10 minute walk from the minibus station! Really cool!!

Near Erawan water fall, there is another waterfall named Huay Mae Kamin. It is a very beatuful waterfall with clear watet.

ผมเป็นคนไทย ผมยังชอบออกไปเที่ยวเจอน้ำตก ภูเขา ทะเล ไปหลายรอบยังไม่เบื่อมีอะไรให้ดูเยอะ ผมไปกาญจนบุรี 3ครั้งเเล้วครับ ธรรมชาติสวยงามมาก สำหรับผ้าที่ผูกไว้กับต้นไม้คนไทยเชื่อว่า มีเทวดาสิงอยู่กับต้นไม้ใหญ่อายุมากๆครับ พอมีผ้าผูกไว้จะไม่มีคนกล้าตัดทำลาย

Bridge over the River Kwai There will be an annual event Around 25 November to 5 December, the commemoration of World War II events There are fireworks to celebrate the 5th of December as well. It's very beautiful. It happens once a year.

Kanchanaburi Waterfall must pass during the rainy season to have beautiful colors. During the rainy season, the water color is cloudy.
